Each book ends with Mr. Boddy's "murder", and the next book starts off with him telling you how he miraculously survived. I chose this book as a start for my granddaughter, age 7, who is an avid reader, to begin her journey into the books I loved as a child.

Each book ends with Mr. These would be fun for younger children who like to use their minds, as well as anyone older (I was twenty when I bought my copy) who's up for a little nostalgia. While I just opened the mailbox and ripped open the package, I was very surprised to find that the book itself is in a 'well worn' condition. The pages are yellowed and the cover, while intact, is cracked and again, well handled.

I am a Speech Language Pathologist assistant and I purchased a few of these books to use with my clients. These are GREAT for working on inferencing, problem solving, auditory processing and I'm sure so much more. Highly recommend these books to teachers and SLP's.

I had a very faint memory of these for the longest time; I remembered sitting on my deck in the summertime, eagerly trying to solve the mysteries and laughing at the goofiness of the characters. Time ticked on by, and I started to think I had honestly dreamed up these books existing. As luck would have it, last year I was browsing around Wikipedia and found out that I hadn't been dreaming at all!

Each book contains a handful of short whodunit stories. Much like an Encyclopedia Brown book, you must pay attention to details and use your brain to figure out who carried out the crime. Some are easy, some might require a bit of a nudge from an adult for younger readers. Each book ends with Mr. Boddy's "murder", and the next book starts off with him telling you how he miraculously survived. These would be fun for younger children who like to use their minds, as well as anyone older (I was twenty when I bought my copy) who's up for a little nostalgia. Each book contains all the characters from the original board game, and they're all sprinkled with the same kind of silly, dark humor found in the film version.

This is a good book to share with English classes! Plenty of stories to engage and stimulate with these students.
I chose this book as a start for my granddaughter, age 7, who is an avid reader, to begin her journey into the books I loved as a child. While I just opened the mailbox and ripped open the package, I was very surprised to find that the book itself is in a 'well worn' condition. The pages are yellowed and the cover, while intact, is cracked and again, well handled. Still, my grand girl can hardly wait till she begins to read the pages and become as involved as I did when I was a child. So until and unless she complains about its condition, I remain on the sideline.
