Marcus is charming, sweet and just an all around great guy. He is a family first kind of man. Low, short for Willow, is a kind, and very forgiving. She takes care of her niece, and puts up with a lot of crap from her older sister. She also has to deal with her best friend Cage, who thinks that someday they will be together. Low is not having any of that. Cage is just too much of a playboy for her.

I loved how Low and Marcus's relationship developed and while the drama is a bit over the top, it worked. Very fun quick read, and I am looking forward to continuing on with me re-read and catching up on the books I missed.

Ok so I didn't expect to even like this book to be honest. I wasn't really a fan of Marcus in Breathe so I just didn't think this book would really draw me in. However, I couldn't be more wrong. Glines has done it again. She's proven me wrong when I was already certain about how I would feel about this book.

As much as I loved Breathe and I loved the story of Jax and Sadie however, I actually think I like Low and Marcus even more. The story had even more depth in the plot and characters. Some where along the way I fell in love with Marcus and the way he was determined to protect Low. The situation that Glines created to put Low and Marcus in was genius. This book is just amazing I can't say enough without giving away spoilers and I HATE putting spoilers in my reviews. So, do yourself a favor and read this book...like now!

I loved Low and Marcus! They were great characters to watch fall in love. If you've read my other reviews, I'm not a fan of weak female leads. Low had a tendency to run to her best friend Cage when things go too heavy, but it wasn't so bad where I couldn't tolerate when she did this. All the other characters were just as awesome and were a nice addition to the story. There are 9 books in this series. "Because of Low" was the second in the series which I read first because it was on sale when I bought it and I didn't want to spend $7.99 for the first one with the possibility of finding out I don't like this author's writing. I found I did enjoy this author's work and jumping to the second book first didn't leave me with any gaps. There were some parts about Marcus being heart broken about another girl who chose a different guy which I suspect is from the first book. The author did a good job of giving you just enough back story without having you feel like you were missing something and without having to go in to great deal. The author left you with an excerpt of book 3 which is about Cage. I can't wait to read about this big time man whore.

Fans of my blog will know I have this habit of reading books a bit out of order, though I'm not sure how I managed to miss this one as I have read quite a number of Abbi Glines's books and all three of her series from Seabreeze to Rosemary Beach to Vincent Boys. Searching my brain bank as I read Breathe a long time ago, we saw Sadie end up with Jax , though Marcus Hardy had been harboring feelings for Sadie. In Because of Low , we meet Cage York - who is friends with Preston Drake whom from later books we know gets together with Amanda - Marcus's younger sister. The story sets with Marcus needing a roommate and Preston recommending Cage, the two set up and Marcus soon comes to realise that Cage is a player - a bit like Preston. That is until one night, a girl turns up on their doorstep looking for Cage. This girl is Willow - it turns out that Cage and Willow go way back and as Cage puts it to Marcus ,this is the girl he is going to marry one day. Soon Willow and Marcus get to know each other and find themselves hitting it off and the passion and chemistry between them is undeniable. The two start dating and fall in love , Cage being the great mate realises Willow aka Low is happy and backs off with a warning to Marcus that he better not hurt her or else. Life is suddenly looking up for Marcus and Willow , that is until it is discovered that the girl Marcus's father is leaving his mother for is Willow's big sister Tawny and Willow's niece Larissa is in fact Marcus and Amanda's half-sister. Willow despite hating Tawny, loves Larissa and will do anything for her. What will happen though when both of them are forced to choose between family and love ? Can they both choose the right decision and make things work or will family dramas stand in their way of true love and happiness ?
