Cinda Williams Chima is one heck of a storyteller!! The details in the book made me feel at times like I was really there in the mountains and traveling with Raisa on her journey to the throne. I love the world of the Seven Realms and love that there is an amazing story with politics to boot. I have to say that I'm more impressed with each book they just keep building and layering so there can be a fantastic conclusion to the series. Cinda Williams Chima. One day Han Alister catches three young wizard setting fire to the sacred mountain of Hanalea. Han takes an amulet away from Micah Bayar, son of the High Wizard, to ensure the boy won't use it against him. The amulet once belonged to the Demon King, who nearly destroyed the world a millennium ago. With a magical piece so powerful at stake, Han knows that the Bayars will stop at nothing to get it back. Meanwhile, Princess Raisa ana'Marianna has her own battle to fight.

Chima is the creator of The Heir and The Seven Realms, the former an enjoyable and fun trilogy and . THE GRAY WOLF THRONE is more quickly paced than the previous two, made of more dialogue and less vivid description

Thus far, this series has not been all that heavy in action, but the tale is no less brilliant than others for its imagination and use of every other element in high fantasy. THE GRAY WOLF THRONE is more quickly paced than the previous two, made of more dialogue and less vivid description. Plots thicken here, and audiences will be thrilled with the many love interests Raisa continues to be plagued by.

Han Alister thought he had already lost everyone he loved. But when he finds his friend Rebecca Morley near death in the Spirit Mountains, Han knows that nothing matters more than saving her. The costs of his efforts are steep, but nothing can prepare him for what he soon discovers: the beautiful, mysterious girl he knew as Rebecca is none other than Raisa ana’Marianna, heir to the Queendom of the Fells. Han is hurt and betrayed. He knows he has no future with a blueblood. And, as far as he’s concerned, the princess’s family killed his own mother and sister. But if Han is to fulfill his end of an old bargain, he must do everything in his power to see Raisa crowned queen. Meanwhile, some people will stop at nothing to prevent Raisa from ascending. With each attempt on her life, she wonders how long it will be before her enemies succeed. Her heart tells her that thethief-turned-wizard Han Alister can be trusted. She wants to believe it—he’s saved her life more than once. But with danger coming at her from every direction, Raisa can only rely onherwits and her iron-hard will to survive—and even that might not be enough. The Gray Wolf Throneis an epic tale of fierce loyalty, unbearable sacrifice, and the heartless hand of fate.

Finished this book in one day. So far this book is my favorite book in the series, but who knows the second might be even better. Han finally learns the truth about Raise, it was a long time coming. Also we finally learned who Crow was, though to be honest I think we all sort of knew. This book definitely has the most drama thus for. All the stories finally come together, as each of the characters learn and reveal more about each other. I think one of favorite parts in this installment of the series is the comradery that has developed between Han and Amon. I like both of the guys and can see why Raisa did/does as well. They are both pretty great in their own ways. I think it was big step for both of them to put aside their differences for the sake of protecting Raisa.

However, I think the best part is that both Han and Raisa both seem to have grown a great deal. They finally take hold of their own lives. Han, although really hurt, does not waste too much time feeling sorry for himself and makes some interesting decisions moving forward. Raisa finally shows herself to the world as the strong leader we all knew she was meant to be. I am happy with how things are coming together and cannot wait to hear more about the history of Alger and Hanalea.

In terms of character development this series is definitely working for me. Most of the characters a rather gray, nothing is really black and white and that is what makes everything so grand.

I have to start by saying that I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this series!! The Seven Realms books are by far some of the best books out there!

The Gray Wolf Throne pretty much picks up where the Exiled Queen left off which was nice because we didn't miss anything. Cinda Williams Chima is one heck of a storyteller!! The details in the book made me feel at times like I was really there in the mountains and traveling with Raisa on her journey to the throne. I love the world of the Seven Realms and love that there is an amazing story with politics to boot. While reading the Gray Wolf Throne I could definitely see the story being set up for the last installment. I'm gritting my teeth in anticipation I seriously can NOT wait to read the conclusion to the story!!

I loved that all our favorite characters were back. Han (sighs) is amazing... I was hoping to read just a tad more about him in this book along with Crow, but I feel like all the writing that we were allowed to read is setting us up for one heck of a final book/battle! I loved that Dancer and Cat were back as well as Amon (sighs again... poor Amon, I love him). I'm definitely curious to see the part Micah will play in the last book... I've not totally made up my mind about whether he'll turn out to be a good person or not. Can't wait to see some characters get what they deserve and find out the mysteries still left untold. I don't want to give away spoilers so I feel limited to what I can say... but let me tell you, if you haven't read this series you are seriously missing out!!

Cinda Williams Chima, you are more than welcome to send me a copy of the last book (to proof read of course) lol. I'm so excited for the last book, just sad I have to wait for it to come out :'( This series is hands down one to buy, you will NOT regret the investment!! I made the mistake of borrowing the first two from the library, then had to go out and buy my own copies so I could read them again and again... I can't rave enough about these books, love them, love the author, love the storytelling, setting, fantasy, romance, mystery and so much more.... AMAZING book!!!!!!

The Gray Wolf Throne is another great addition to the Seven Realms Series. I have to say that I'm more impressed with each book they just keep building and layering so there can be a fantastic conclusion to the series.
We pick up right where we left off in the exiled queen. Raisa has escaped the Bayars once again and is trying to find her way home to reunite with her family and the throne. Han has been recalled by the clans to go into service but on the way to whispering pines he is searching for Rebecca Morley (Raisa) hoping he can find the girl he has become so attached to.
There was danger around every corner and so many people trying to make sure Raisa never makes it back to her kingdom. There are still some absolutely heart wrenching moments for me between Raisa and Amon (sigh for a love that can never be) and even for Han and Raisa. There are so many close calls and it is amazing how some lay down their lives for Queen and Country.
"She had never felt more alive than when she lay dying in Han Alister's arms."
Han really comes into his one in this book and shows that even in high politics he can play the game. Raisa becomes even more confident in herself and the leadership role she will need to take on.
"I continue to believe in miracles. But I know that miracles come to those who work very hard"
All of the supporting characters I loved from the other two books are back and as fierce as ever. Fire Dancer, Cat, Amon, Micah and Crow all bring so much to the story. I loved getting more of the backstory of Hanalea and Algier and finding out for sure who Crow really was although I was pretty sure already before the reveal.
"The time will come when you will be forced to make a choice," Hanalea said. "When that time comes, choose love."
It was a roller coaster ride of political intrigue and posturing the whole way through. There are so many great moments in this book and the set up for the finale is incredible. I can't wait to see how all of the arcs play out. The writing is captivating and beautiful even though it is YA it is not dumbed down and remains incredibly intricate. Another win for Chima!
