B4 I wrapped this for Xmas gift for 10 yr.old gr.son, I read through all 90+ experiments -(very easy reading) -made a list of all items needed for ea. experiment.-bought a $2 shoebox & filled it w/. more than 1/2 what was needed just from around the house - his dad has rest of items - gave whole thing as 1 gift . Next thing I knew, everyone in room on Xmas morning was going through book, wanting to try experiments - The best part is the book explains, in simple but excellent terms, the WHYS & HOWS of the results/causes of ea. experiment. It's as though this was written for adults but at a 5th grade level-! Has easy to read & follow instructions & no prior knowledge of ANYTHING needed. This is a terrific book for the whole family to have fun with.

Most are easy to do, and interesting for the 2nd & 3rd graders. We plan to use it in the classroom for many years to come.

I bought this for my 6 year old grandson. He will need an adult to help him with these experiments. You do need to come up wih your own supplies, most of which are around the house. Good introduction to electrical science.

Awesome!

The way it was presented and the material is not very good. I thought it was ok. If I had seen it in a store, I would not have bought it.

No krypton here also doesn't call for hydrochloric acid or TNT does require assistance from responsible party to insure no fires are started

The book is just ok. My 11 year old did a few of the experiments but most were simple and outdated. They are just like experiments I did over 30 years ago in elementary school. It uses objects that are not as common as they were 20 years ago. It is ok if you just want some real basic stuff to do with your young kids just starting out.
This book contains 101 electrical and magnetic experiments and projects. The materials used can be found around the house or easily purchased at a local store. These experiments teach many of the basics of electricity and magnetics and can be very informative for kids, and even adults, and the illustrations and text explaining the science behind the experiments are well done. I think science is fascinating, and this book can help you spread the 'magic' of science to others.
