The fauna of Scotland is generally typical of the north-west European part of the Palearctic ecozone . Colin Baxter Photography.

The fauna of Scotland is generally typical of the north-west European part of the Palearctic ecozone, although several of the country's larger mammals were hunted to extinction in historic times. Only six amphibians and four land reptiles are native to Scotland, but many species of invertebrates live here that are otherwise rare in the United Kingdom (UK). An estimated 14,000 species of insect, including rare bees and butterflies protected by conservation action plans inhabit Scotland. 1973) The Islands of Western Scotland.

Explore the many nature reserves of Scotland, from the vast Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, to the smaller Monach Islands, each . One of the most popular reserves in the country has to be Cairngorms National Park.

Explore the many nature reserves of Scotland, from the vast Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, to the smaller Monach Islands, each with something unique and beautiful to offer. As the largest protected area in Britain and the newest, Cairngorms has plenty to offer. It is stretched out over 3 800 square kilometers and features a variety of plants and animals and acts as home to some 16 000 people. However, the majority of national parks are much smaller than this and some, such as the Fairy Isles Reserve, are much smaller and receive very little attention from visitors.

This is a nice book, however, since I got it used, it was a bit damaged (looked like water or some kind of liquid that stained and warped the pages). But it's still a nice book to look through so I'm okay with the purchase.

If you have fallen in love with the inexpressible beauty of Scotland and are looking for a memento that can quickly and consistently take you back, this is your book.
I own many photo collections on Scotland and this is probably my favorite. Baxter's photographs capture what the country looks like, but more than that, they capture what it feels like. They're works of art.
Keep this one on your coffee table--you'll want to look at it often.
