Arthur Stanley Theodore Fisher (1906–1989) was a mid-20th-century Church of England priest and writer. Fisher and one novel under the pseudonym Michael Scarrott. Fisher was the son of Reverend Arthur Bryan Fisher (1870–1955), a Church of England priest who was a Church Missionary Society missionary in the Uganda Protectorate. Fisher was married and had a daughter.

Named after the Missionary explorer Sir Henry Morton Stanley Fisher was the son of Reverend Arthur Bryan Fisher (1870–1955) a Church of England priest who was a Church Missionary Society missionary in the Uganda Protectorate. Fisher wrote books of prayers and other Christian matters, poems, and later three histories of parishes in West Oxfordshire. Longman published his An Anthology of Prayers Compiled for use in School and Home in 1934 and republished it a number of times from 1943 to 1959. History of Westwell, Oxfordshire. A lovely little village just south west of Burford, the name of Westwell is said to come from the fact that the village boasts the most westerly well in the county. Historic Connections. Westwell is approached by way of a long, narrow road off the A40, but by the time you've reached the village there is no sound to be heard from the busy A road. A small pond with a war memorial lies at the centre of the village, and from the pond a path leads uphill to the parish church. The war memorial is striking, consisting of a monolithic slab of upright stone on a raised plinth.
