The Burren, which covers large tracts of County Clare and parts of County Galway and has an outpost in the Aran Islands, is a magical landscape of limestone pavements, underground waterways and cave systems.

Several of the examples in the text were discussed in an Irish Studies class at NUI, Galway - and I wish I had found this earlier to flesh ou. .

His interest in the archaeology of the Burren and the Aran Islands began in 1989 and he has surveyed and excavated in the region since. His work has been published in both academic and popular journals, as well as being featured on TG4, RTE and local radio. Several of the examples in the text were discussed in an Irish Studies class at NUI, Galway - and I wish I had found this earlier to flesh out the class work. I would recommend this if you want to learn more about Irish archaeology or if you plan on doing some sightseeing in the area.
