One important way to prepare for the LSAT is to simulate the day of the test by taking a practice test under actual time constraints. Taking a practice test under timed conditions helps you to estimate the amount of time you can afford to spend on each question in a section and to determine the question types on which you may need additional practice. Since the LSAT is a timed test, it is important to use your allotted time wisely. I Refer to Computing Your Score on page 38 in this book for instruction on evaluating your performance.

I can't speak highly enough of The Official LSAT PrepTest 43. It's a marvelous, life-changing PrepTest guide.

The Official LSAT PrepTest 76 (Official LSAT PrepTests). I had originally used the larger practice test booklets that contain 10 tests. Those worked well, but the books are so large and the tests are generally several years old, so I didn't feel like I was really getting the true feel of what the actual test would be like. These booklets cost a little more, but the tests are much more recent and they are in the exact format as the actual LSAT. Taking these practice tests helped me ace the LSAT's format.

I won't try to dissuade you from taking the LSAT. I'm some random on the internet, after all. Taking real LSAT tests, under as-exacting-as-actual-test conditions-as-I-could-recreate, raised my score about 10 points. I tried to simulate everything, and these books were an integral part of that strategy.

I went to law school, graduated, passed the bar, and found myself in the worst legal economy in the history of the U.S. So if this, and the other ~55 Official LSAT PrepTests get you to 176+ land and a full ride somewhere, I look forward to your joining the profession. Otherwise, there are many professions which, statistically, will result in your being much happier. ( ... do you have an idea how many alcoholics we've got?)

This test is one of the few LSAT tests that are not available in book form. These tests are preptests 39-51 and test 62-present day. Because it is not in book form, these tests are significantly more expensive ($8 each or 3 for $18 as opposed to approximately $20 for a book of ten). That being said these tests are some of the most modern in existence and although these tests lack the modern games question and comparative reading passages they are still VERY important for you to purchase.

These tests are the best way to improve on the LSAT. Through practice timed and un-timed, using actual, real LSAT questions is the best way to improve on the test.
