I don't usually like to write bad reviews, but given the title of this book and considering there were no reviews I felt a need to write something about it. I am a developer, information architect and programmer and have developed a mobile website for a global Fortune 100 company, so I have a little bit of experience in this area.

A design pattern, according to the Wikipedia definition is "a reusable solution to a commonly occurring problem in software design." There were no solutions in this book, only a tutorial on how to code HTML for a mobile website.

I was very interested in this book because I was interested to see how certain problems I've encountered in mobile web development were solved by other professionals. Unfortunately, this book is not much more than a beginner's book on mobile web development, with just a very basic introduction to the process of mobile web development. This book doesn't cover browser redirection, video, or any other advanced topic.

This book is also self-published, which I'm not opposed to, but the book has huge text, poor line spacing, and bad typography. It makes it look unprofessional and even hard to read.

This could be a good primer to mobile web development (for someone not familiar with web development) but needs some work. The author needs to hire a graphic designer to typeset and layout the book professionally, and it needs a new tagline.

I am a soon to be mobile publisher, not a developer. This book gave a lot of very helpful information about mobile interactivity and information design that helped be realize features and formatting that I was not familiar with. I feel much more confident about conversation with a developer and moving forward with my mobile project. I am most likely going to have a mobi site designed/developed for me, but will admin and upload content myself so it is likely I will refer to this book to touch up code as I do in wysiwygs. I see it as an invaluable resource to step into the mobile space of publishing.

This is a great reference book for those who are designing their first site or have done several but now need to ensure the site(s) work on all devices or a subset of devices.

I will say that the layout of the book is a little awkward at times, but the content more than makes up for it and I completely understand the author's desire to self-publish and the costs involved to make it perfect.

I will be using this book to go back to sites I've created in the past to ensure compliance and make changes as needed.

This book is really a basic HTML primer. It is not for those experienced in Web programming.
