I don't care for the presentation method.

For someone wanting to learn Photoshop this is a good book...............pictures are worth a million words sometimes. The numbers let you know what to do next.

I ordered this book because it has plenty of pictures of Elements screens. The book is clear and to the point with plenty of illustrations. Before I bought the book I would have liked to look at serval pages of the book online

I believe the previous review (R Andrews I think it said) was a review of the software itself rather than this book. I find the book to be easy to follow and love that it includes step-by-step instructions (with screen shots in color and little mouse pictures by where exactly to click) for so many of the tasks that I would be doing with my photos. The color pictures of the Organizer and Editor screens are a huge help! I am new to Photoshop but I love taking photos (mostly family/kid candids.) I have previously worked with Microsoft's Picture It (for years) and have worked with editing photos (basic) in Snapfish and Shutterfly as well as put together many photo books through Shutterfly, Picaboo and ourhubbub. So I am an amateur but not without SOME experience at least. I understand some of the lingo but not a lot. This book was very good for me at this level. I have always edited every single one of my photos in Picture It (removing red eye, fixing the color, cropping to standard print sizes, fixing blemishes, brightening or fixing contrast) so those were the first things I looked for in this book. They cover them all! I appreciate the explanations on the selection tools (those were somewhat new to me.) I'm still getting used to layers but I think the book has a good section on those and is helping me through this learning curve. I hope to become skilled enough to do some digital scrapbooking soon because I felt limited in using the standard templates being offered in the sites I mentioned previously.

I've perused at least a dozen books on Adobe Photoshop with or without "Elements" in the title. This is the only one that I really understand and sticks with me, that includes other ones that are mainly text and also other illustrated, step-by-step for the stupid versions. Thank you Kate Binder.

I'm and amateur photographer and fairly computer literate but find this software difficult to learn. I suspect that it is more powerful than I need. The tutorial is difficult to follow. I had to buy a "How To" book and am now working my way through the teaching. I anticipate that I will like the software when I learn how to use it.
