Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025? by Patrick J. Buchanan. Buchanan traces the disintegration to three historic changes: America's loss of her cradle faith, Christianity; the moral, social, and cultural collapse that have followed from that loss; and the slow death of the people who created and ruled the nation. How Americans are killing the country they profess to love, and the fate that awaits us if we do not turn around, is what Suicide of a Superpower is all about.

Suicide Of A Superpower: Will America Survive To 2025 By Patrick J. Buchanan Audiobook Excerpt.

Suicide of a Superpower. Will America Survive to 2025? Patrick J. Buchanan, read by the author. Pat Buchanan's latest polemic-and his first since Obama's election-exposes the risks America faces today and what those dangers will mean for the country's future. Since Obama took office, conservative pundits have been mainstays on the bestseller list. And now, the bestselling author and political legend Pat Buchanan weighs in with a warning against not only the dangers that the country faces under Obama, but the risk of sliding into irrelevancy that the Republican party faces if it chooses to forget its core values.

Patrick J. Buchanan Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025? New York: Thomas Dunne Books, 2011. As a White Nationalist, my darkest political fear (for the short run, anyway) is that the United States might retain sufficient vestiges of political realism to pull itself together for an Indian Summer of Caesarism before the big cold sets in. Specifically, I fear that someone could put our present Jewish-dominated, multiracial system on firmer economic and political footing

America is disintegrating. The "one Nation under God, indivisible" of the Pledge of Allegiance is passing away. In a few decades, that America will be gone forever. In its place will arise a country unrecognizable to our parents. This is the thrust of Pat Buchanan's Suicide of a Superpower, his most controversial and thought-provoking book to date.

Buchanan traces the disintegration to three historic changes: America's loss of her cradle faith, Christianity; the moral, social, and cultural collapse that have followed from that loss; and the slow death of the people who created and ruled the nation. And as our nation disintegrates, our government is failing in its fundamental duties, unable to defend our borders, balance our budgets, or win our wars.

How Americans are killing the country they profess to love, and the fate that awaits us if we do not turn around, is what Suicide of a Superpower is all about.

Pat Buchanan is a former Nixon Administration staffer and a two time presidential candidate.

His greatest accomplishments however, are not political, they are written. His books are always provocative.

In this book, Buchanan argues that America is entering troubled waters, so troubled in fact the United States might not survive. This pending calamity is due to several self-inflicted wounds.

1. A loss of religious faith. Buchanan is a Roman Catholic and so he is most critical of that church, especially since Vatican II.

2. Immigration and collapsing birthrates. Buchanan argues that the Third Worlders coming to America won't be able to sustain the great civilization created by whites.

3. Collapse of manufacturing and trade imbalances. Buchanan gets official scorn from the main stream media and political class for his pro-white views but perhaps the Global Elite really are mad about his protectionist, economic populist attitudes. Essentially, Buchanan supports the ideas of Alexander Hamilton, and Abraham Lincoln on trade and well-paid labor. In contrast to nearly all the casino capitalists on Wall Street who have benefited so well from dismantling America's industrial base. He provides alarming statistics showing America's trade imbalance with the Far East, so much so it appears that we have returned to the status as a colonial outpost.

This book is alarming indeed and is a very worthy book describing the crisis of America in a way few are able to express.

Not a pleasant or fun read. Most of us have an idea that our country, the USA, is sick. The question is what is the sickness, is it terminal or can it be cured. Mr. Buchanan attempts to answer these questions. In short, he finds us, and presents evidence for the conclusions that we are morally weak, with little love for liberty or life. The disease is terminal, and not far off, unless we reform ourselves, and quickly. As I said, Mr. Buchanan supplies evidence. And he does suggest what to do about it. We cannot remain an empire without a moral or industrial base. We will have to give up the role of global policeman, and rebuild first at home. His conclusions are not going to be popular, though they were taken for granted a hundred years ago. They will involve discomfort, and change, not of the Obama sort. Suicide of a Superpower is not just good reading, it is essential for the well being of our children. It needs to be read by every American, and action taken. We don't have long.

This very important work has to be a basic source of info to help explain how the U.S. has arrived at its present state of affairs in its very short existence. "Suicide of a Superpower" is researched and documented to the max, which is basic necessity considering the tactics that are employed by those who oppose (vehemently) Moderate/Center Right views and politics.

The author describes how the decline of religion in America has a negative impact on our society. He further discusses the ramifications of a low birth rate and an increasing immigration rate along with the myths of equality and diversity that will bring about a complete transformation of American demographics and politics by mid-century.

I have read nearly all of Pat Buchanan's books and typically rate them a solid 4 or 5. This one rates a 3.75 (rounded up to 4) for a couple reasons:

A lot of the material is similar to what he discusses in some of his previous books. If you have only read one or two of those books, this criticism can probably be ignored (By the way, his best and most original book is "Churchill, Hitler, and "The Unnecessary War": How Britain Lost Its Empire and the West Lost the World." A great book)

I was somewhat annoyed by the last chapter where he lists steps that conservatives must implement to avoid "extinction:" Limits to illegal immigration (especially when unemployment is high), a border fence, no amnesty, Congress spelling out the correct interpretation of the 14th amendment, raiding businesses that employ illegals, and a constitutional amendment making English the official language in the United States. This is obvious and contributes little to the discussion.

The question to address is how these steps could possibly be accomplished. Their passage and enforcement would require support from Democrats (especially anything related to a Constitutional amendment or re-interpretation of the 14th amendment). Waiting for conservatives to control Congress and the Presidency is not a realistic option, at this time (not to mention three-quarters of the states approving the Constitutional amendments).

I can just picture Boehner and McConnell having lunch with Pelosi and Reid:

Boehner: "Hey guys, Mitch and I need your help on a little project of ours - a small favor."

Reid: "Sure, we'd love to help you, if we can."

Mitch: "It's really important. In fact, if you don't help us, the Republican party will go extinct."

Nancy: "My God, that sounds terrible. It's essential that America retain a two party system - you know, for checks and balances. How can we help?" Nancy smiles at Boehner and then adds with a wink, "You pay for lunch and we've got a deal!"

This book should be mandatory reading for anyone wishing to run for any public office, and before anyone is allowed to vote. Mr. Buchanan tells things that many are afraid to speak, for fear of being branded as "radical". I have read several of Mr. Buchanan's books, and find them all to be "eye opening". He admits where he used to favor certain policies, (i.e., Free Trade) and has come to realize he was wrong in those beliefs. It takes a very smart and honest person to realize a mistake and also admit it to the masses. It is a shame that MSNBC fired him over the release of this book, since he is the reason I would even watch that station. But, their firing of him was what spurred me to get this book and read it, so soon after it was published.

It is sad the direction this country is taking. I hope enough people will read, and act on this book, to help turn back the tide.
