Thank you very much..... I'm enjoying it as I write.

I had spent some time searching for texts on Olodumare, primary deity of the Yoruba pantheon. I was very much excited to find and purchase this book, but was disappointed when I started reading it. While the book is written in a scholarly fashion, I couldn't help but notice just how Christian-influenced this work is. The book contains a lot of information about the Yoruba tribe's mythology, deities and beliefs, but with each reference made to Olodumare, I felt like the author was describing Yahweh/Jehovah under a different name. I'm not saying that this is a bad book, but it's definitely not what I had expected. If you are a follower of the Christian faith and simply want to learn more about alternate religions, this might be a book you can enjoy. But anyone that is opposed to Christianity or has a bitter taste for it would not care much for this text.

Olodumare has been a source for almost every paper I write. It is a thoughtful and comprehensive look at a most interesting aspect of a most interesting religion. So much for those who claim that pagans have no concept of Absolute God. Yet what Absolute means for the Yoruba turns out to be very different. I highly recomend this book for any religion scholar as a wonderful study of God universally and in Yoruba tradition. Begin the dialogue.
