How, the young Roy wondered, could a smiling, personable stranger cause well-dressed, educated, competent adults to forget their names?

The Power of Words, Mohammed Qahtani. Mohammed Qahtani – Saudi Arabian security engineer. A simple choice of ‘word’ can make a difference between someone accepting or denying your message. What? Or you all think smoking kills? Let me tell you something. You can have a very beautiful thing to say, but say it in the wrong words and it’s gone. I have a son who is four, and he had this bad habit of writing on the walls with crayons. And one evening I walked into his room and he’s going at it, just writing and drawing and so on. And I said, Hey, hey, hey! Are you stupid?

Keep in mind why a headline stands out more than another. Notice which words grab you in a bullet list of benefits.

Another study found that simple stock names that are easier to pronounce lead to quicker gains post-IPO. Take note of the words and phrases that grab your attention. Keep in mind why a headline stands out more than another.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."

What power do words have over you?

If you receive a compliment, do you swell with pride? If someone insults you, do you crumble into depression, guilt, or anger?

The Secret Power Of Words explains how words are mere noises which in themselves have no inherent meaning, except for what we project through them. Yet, words can rule our lives and drive us to feel and behave in reactive, unconscious, and destructive ways.

Words are the material out of which cruel people spin a hypnotic web of confusion, misery, and lifelong slavery. The influence of words lead to an oversensitivity to other peoples words, can erode faith and confidence in your own perceptions.

It is possible to break the spell of words. Roy Masters explains how to become free from their hypnotic power.

Words, words, words, and all of them repeat the same thing over and over and over and... Well, you get the point.

Roy Masters provides valuable insights into human nature in "The Secret Power of Words". Bullies and tyrants all use the same techniques to induce a hypnotic trance state by controlling their subjects through words. People are emotionalized to react in spite of themselves. No one is safe or immune to their brainwashing. Even common sense cannot protect you. Relentless repetition of bullies' and tyrants'' words produce emotions which enslave you and keep you under their spell. You are tricked and manipulated into thinking the ideas in your head are yours, when in reality, you have been emotionally programmed by the secret power of words. Politicians, religious leaders, teachers, psychologists, civil authorities, etc., all use words to shape and mold people to suit their power-driven purposes. Even the "good" people lack integrity. If you are aware enough to realize that the majority of people, instead of thinking for themselves, unconsciously repeat the mindless slogans of their brainwashers, then you will appreciate this book.

In The Secret Power of Words, Roy Masters takes a look at the dichotomy between experiencing reality versus imagining reality. One imagines reality, by believing the study of words leads to enlightenment. However, enlightenment never comes with a Pharisaical understanding of words. Example: does one really know love, forgiveness, justification, righteousness by definition and study? Perhaps you've heard people say or have said yourself, " I never really understand something until I do it." That's because we're designed to be objective beings and eschew thought alone as truth. As the old Jewish saying goes, " Don't tell me what you believe, I'll watch you for a day and tell you what you believe." Masters points how infamous charismatic leaders lead large populations to ruin by shrewdly connecting words to emotions. Truly, words are no more than symbols for meaning and surly the meaning, not the symbol is that which is important.

The Foundation of Human Understanding is the furthest thing from an cult.Anyone who has listened to Roy Masters on the radio or have seen him on television know this. He's not some raving, self righteous, money hungry preacher that uses his position to lie, deceive, sexually assault, and fleece his followers(look at all those televangelists, priests, and religious leaders, churches are breeding grounds for sexual predators)(Don't believe me,just look at some of the headlines,i would be careful about leaving my kids with any of them). In fact,he does'nt have "followers",it's more like admirers. His detractors, and there are many, claim he teaches a combination of eastern philosophy and western psychology.Again, there mistaken,it's a meditation technique who's genesis can be found with the Judeo-Christian mystics. This book is about how words, written and spoken, can highly influence someone's behavior or actions, because of the highly suggestible hypnotic state most people are in.He explains how it's not so much the words themselves, but the spirit and meaning behind them that's important.Lastly, and what i feel is the most important aspect of this book,is his thoughts on persons who memeorize verses and chapters from the bible, and how they get this sense that there somehow righteous and good as a result. They "think" there saved, hallelueh, praise the lord, but there just deceving themselves. In the silence of your soul, you will see reality.Jesus came here to save us from religion. Also recommend:"The Kaborous Manuscript",it contains lost pages from the bible.

Roy teachings lead you back to your real self if you are ready. This book is about the conflict one has between your intuition and the words in your head. He points out how people can control other by using words. It is a good read for someone who is seeking truth about themselves and want insight about themselves and others. This man has been such a wonderful help to me personally. His books have been very healing. This was money well spent.
