Abhishek Tiwari, Cal Poly Pomona "This text is written in a plain and friendly style. The student has an excellent chance of grasping one concept before moving on to the next, more complex, module.

She believes that this audience can master basic y the mechanics and the underlying logic of hypothesis testing-by employing a conceptual, modular approach without dumbing down the presentation.

Wendy Steinberg has a gift for explaining things thoroughly, yet in a way that everyone (even those with not much math background) can understand. I like her candid narrative and her relevant real-world examples. Instead of writing a brainy stats text garbled with formulas and theory that no one except a statistician will remember after their course ends, she covers all the major stats topics in short "modules", versus "chapters". If you do use this text and have a solid math background, and have used Excel in other courses, it will make using this book that much easier and more enjoyable. This is one of a very few texts where I feel I'm having a conversation with the author.

This book is great at explaining statistics to the newcomer. However, the book answers were provided as part of our on-line classroom exercises and practices, and many of them are wrong. I found myself trying to force my answers to conform with the answers provided by the book! Then had to email the professor to check my answers against the book's - most of the time I was right and the book answers were wrong! Someone wasn't checking - a shame, because the book itself is a wonderful resource. A very frustrating experience.

Great Book, didn’t really use for my class though.

I used for practice questions and for any confusion on how to solve a problem.

Not the best statistics text out there. This was a required text for one of my classes. I found myself reading other statistics textbooks to gain understanding of concepts. I stopped reading this book altogether and just used other textbooks.

I'm not a Statistics person - I needed this book for class. Now it's on a shelf somewhere collecting dust....

Statistics, so much fun.

Not. This book explains it well, but the jokes and cartoons are distracting! I guess I'd buy it again, if I had to.
This book is being used by two individuals completing their dissertation studies. It is easy to understand and the workbook helps us understand the process being learned.
