A parallel world of majestic sweep and gripping intensity. The defeat of the Tugar horde by Andrew Keane, his Civil War regiment and soldiers from the now-liberated Russian city Rus was cause for great celebration (RALLY CRY, Book 1 in The Lost Regiment series). However, Andrew once again must mobilize his American and Russian troops, as another terrifying horde called the Merki have attacked Roum, with the help of human troops from Cartha, a Carthaginian city hostile to Rome back on Earth before both Romans and Carthaginians were transported to this strange planet.

Lost Regiment 02 - Union Forever. Категория: Science Fiction.

Colonel Andrew Keane and his blue-coated soldiers were not the first humans time-space-warped to a world so familiar yet so foreign. Humans abounded on the perverse planet-humans treated like cattle by the alien warrior overlords. Keane's Civil War weaponry defeated the swords, spears and crossbows of his monstrous adversaries. And part of the human population was freed, but the other part became puppets of the overlords in a vast counterattack. Now it was human vs. human, gun vs. gun, ironclad against ironclad, as the empires of Roum and Cartha clashed in gut-wrenching, soul-stirring struggle for the future of a world beyond time.

William Forstchen had written several books I prefer to this series. The Gambler Series is one of my favorites because it combine historical figures like Alexander the Great with a futuristic scenerio. Forstchen is a military history teacher and I enjoy the historical accuracy in his books. His book, One Second After, is his absolute best.

This series is a light read, I like the premise, but skip pages of redundant material. I like the series, but I don't rate it with his best. Civil War technology and warfare meets Russians from 1000 AD, and pockets of civilization from China, Rome, Carthage, etc. I'd like to see to Amerind warfare, pre-European Invasion perhaps.
Typical Forstchen work. A very enjoyable read!
Great story with lots of action, highly recommend!
I can't say which of the books in this series is my favorite. I love them all. Alternate Universe and Civil War buff readers will enjoy. If you're not into Civil War books, this set will most likely have you read more. W.R. Forstchen at his best.
fun story

this series is one of the most enjoyable I have read. I am enjoying it again after 20 yrs. According to some rumors Tom Cruise is going to do movies on. If teru cannot wait for it.
After the defeat of the Tugars, the men of the 35th Maine and their Rus allies face a new threat as the southern Horde of the Merki arrive. With the help of the treacherous Cromwell and Hinson, the Merki arm one of their slave nations with firearms and an ironclad navy and set out to entrap and destroy the army of the Republic.
