She lunged for the scythe, grabbed its handle, and sprinted the short distance to where the whore knelt. By God, she’d cut the bitch in two before she let her have him. Alan was too fast. Alan was too fast n front of Gràinne, protecting her, catching Sorcha’s wrist as she began to swing the long, curved blade, and squeezing tight. Sorcha’s fingers opened, and the scythe clattered to the floor. I hate you, Sorcha hissed. She tried to wrench away, but he pinned her body against his. His solid rod pressed against her belly. Highlanders were everywhere when I was reading just romance, but when I started venturing into erotica I've had a hard time finding them. So when I came across this one I was pretty excited.

Walmart 9780451227010. Highlanders were everywhere when I was reading just romance, but when I started venturing into erotica I've had a hard time finding them. Unfortunately, I didn't end up liking it as much as I thought I would. I really felt for Alan and Sorcha, betrayed as they were by Cam.

In the Scottish Highlands, two warriors are about to clash over a woman of passion...They were the unlikeliest of friends debauching their way through London: The Earl of Camdonn, a nobleman of vast wealth and power, and Scottish laird Alan MacDonald, a respected Jacobite with ambitions of his own. But their friendship is destroyed when Alan marries the beautiful Sorcha Stewart-only to witness Cam kidnap her from their bedroom. Then Alan learns the truth: his bride was not an innocent. She took a lover before him-his friend-who taught her the ways of pleasure. Now, Alan will do anything to get his wife back. Cam fights to redeem his honor, even as he refuses to give up his desire. Torn between love and duty, Sorcha must watch as the two men she desires go to war over her. And when the battle lines are drawn, all three lovers are lured into a triangle of forbidden passions...

I found this supposedly Scottish historical romance disappointing on so many levels.

First, and I did not know it when I purchased it, it's an erotic romance, which means it's all about the sex. But it lacks the delicate presentation that an author like Emma Wildes would give to such a story. To capture the essence of it, it's about two self-absorbed so called Highlanders who have spent the last many years living a debauched lifestyle in England and at Oxford. They have now returned to Scotland and have adjoining estates. They have shared women--in the same night--in the same bed--and at the same time. That should give you a hint where this story is going.

As to the heroine, Sorcha, one had her and now the other is married to her and in the end they have a menage a trois, which I found disgusting and made me lose total respect for the heroine, who was never that endearing anyway. It is a slow read in many places and not realistic in others. Sprinkled in are some historical references to what was going on in Scotland in 1715, but frankly I found all that a bit extraneous to what was merely a story of two apparent rivals for the same woman.

This is the first romance I've read that has too much sex and too little character development and plot. I almost stopped reading at page 100, but kept thinking it would get better. It didn't. I only finished it by skimming over some parts. I felt whipsawed by Cam's character as he was first indifferent to Sorcha, then obsessed with her, then somehow in love with her, then giving her wholeheartedly to Alan as "the better man." And self righteous Alan judged her for her affair with Cam before they married only to give her to Cam to "test" her and then coached her through the sex with his friend. Give me a break. As a result, while I found Cam the more interesting character, I won't be reading his story in the sequel. And, I don't recommend this book.

Wow! Quite possibly the most emotionally well dialogued triangle love story I've come accross in an Erotic novel -ever. Even the menage scene is extremely well written.

Cam's heartbreaking and painfull journey into adulthood-like: 'realizing your in love with your best friends wife, a little too late' We become witnesses to his vulnerable transition throughout the story that unfolds with keen insights and actions. Cam's path is tormented and tried over and over as he works through his volitile emotions. Alan! wow- Dawn has his personality written so well you will actually feel his every thought -you'll literally grip the armrests reading his quiet and oh so masculine passionate responses to Cam and Sorsha's actions. This alpha hero is so totally honorable, noble and self-sacrificing I dare you not to fall in love yourself! Sorsha's pact with Alan to be completely Honest with each other makes their dialogue a virtual emotional rollercoaster throughout the book.

Don't pass up a chance to read this one! 5 star erotic & 5 star romance- I'm pre-ordering Highland Surrender now!

This is a 1st for me writing reviews on a book. So bear with me,please? As the book begins it is a very heart wrenching touching story of a woman who is in love with one man and is promised to another. She has sexual relations with the guy she thinks she is in love with, even though she is to be a virgin and marry a man that her father has picked out for her. So in spite of loving the other man,she marries the one who she cares for and at her father's demand. Well let's just say that her new husband finds out that she is no virgin, and the night that they were consumating their wedding vows, the guy who she has been sleeping with is in deed her new husband's "best friend",and he is watching them from outside their window, and watching them make love he gets all turned on and masturbates while his best friend is getting it on with the woman he loves. Eventually, the man who has married this woman is so torn, because the woman he loved was screwing his best friend that he loves and has been and done things with since they were just young boys. The married guy gets really messed up,and one night he wants his wife to have sex with him and his best friend. (at the same time) It's quite sickening, cause the married guy goes through all kinds of phases. Anger, jealousy, you name it. But during the book it comes out that he and his friend have done all kinds of perverted sex things, like this together numerous times. It's just PORN. And the 3 of them do this. I threw the FREAKING book away!!!!!

If you're looking for hot steamy sex scenes, a forbidden romance, and two friends fighting over a women, then this is the book for you. This book is full of steamy sexual exploits. It was a great read from beginning to end. There are a few sexual encounters in the book that may not be for everyone, but I loved getting to read something different from the norm. It was also great to read a book with some new and different takes on relationships. Highly recommend this book.

I dont like telling people what the book is about...I would suggest downloading the sample from kindle and reading the first chapter because I couldn't put it down. It is great from the beginning. This isn't a fairytale...so if you are into fairytales this might not be the book for you. Its a hott and steamy romance and I loved the characters and the story!

I really enjoyed this book. I love all books that are about Highlanders. I am not a prude but the sexual encounter between the three of them first of all does nothing for me, and second, you have two large highlanders on one small female, it would seem that there is not room for both of them at one time, plus the angle is all wrong for penetration by both at the same time in the position they are in. If I am wrong plese explain to me.
I love the cover, but the story was very disappointing. First, it starts off with too much raw sex. The writer leaves nothing to the reader's imagination. Romance and desire is the key - not raw sex. The plot is weak, and it does not bring in enough historical background. I'm not looking for a history lesson, but the setting is also important. The writer's idea is great, but it needs a rewrite.
