While Roger spoke, and the Lush Beauty managers absorbed the surprising news, Hunter’s gaze moved methodically around the big, oval table. His gaze paused on Ethan from product development, then Colleen from marketing.

Getting struggling clothing designer Kristy Mahoney to a Las Vegas chapel a minute after meeting her was no problem. Even though she supposedly loved someone else. Prenup in hand, Jack planned to enjoy his wedding-night privileges, then walk away with the untouchable Osland billions. He'd teach his gorgeous temporary bride a little lesson and have a very merry Christmas.

Beyond business

Billionaire Hunter Osland can't believe it. One of the employees in the company his family just bought happens to be his one-night stand, Sinclair Mahoney. With their passion-filled encounter still fresh in his memory, Hunter wants to rekindle their connection. But Sinclair's sudden wariness of tangling with her new boss sets the CEO on a different course of action. First he'll show Sinclair how desirable she is in the boardroom...then he'll prove it in the bedroom.

I read this right after I read The Billionaire Who Bought Christmas. I gave this one 4 stars because I found it less charming than that book. But it was still good read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would highly recommend reading it after The Billionaire Who Bought Christmas, but if you read them out of order, I don't think anything would get lost. They are both light reads.

In my opinion(and after all this forum is about one's opinion)the heroine came accross as pathetic, pitifully insecure and very needy, (especially for a heroine who is supposed to be a competent, business woman), willing to settle for a lot less than she should. Thus I did not like this book at all.

An enjoyable story. However it could have had an epilogue featuring the gypsy's prediction. When in the middle of the story where there is a foreshadowing, you would expect that by the end of the story what was foreshadowed will happen.

So nice to read of a couple that actually get on, and build each other up rather than tear or put down. Excellent witty comebacks, smooth comraderie with a delicious dose of office politics, nicely provided by office minx Chantal and sandbagging Roger. Watch for the lol shake-down when Sinclair returns back to work after taking a vacation at the worst possible time, just before a critical product release function. Miaow!!

Hunter’s cousin Jack and grandfather Cleveland are hilarious in their intereference, as is Sinclair’s twin sister, Kristy. It’s a refreshing change to have a good, no hang-up family watching out for one another. Such an unusual experience to get on with reading a great romance without having to suffer through insults, sneers, deceit and in-your-face, over- the-top, usually forced sexual acts.

My favourite part is where Hunter has Sinclair’s best interest at heart when he quietly makes Sinclair realise that she is a sitting duck to be dumped from all the hard work she has put into her huge project for the sake of very flighty junior aid Chantal aided by conniving company president, Roger. Because of Hunters persistent in this touchy subject, Sinclair accepts that she must shake of her pacifist complacency and swing into battle. Hunter is instrumental in helping Sinclair take it on with style, class which increases her self confident. Sublime reading!

I found the story which took place in the sometimes cutthroat world of big business very interesting. I also found it very true to life when I read how Chantal, the ditzy blonde with the mindless giggles and the big.......attitude but with few brains was given all the breaks in the company while Sinclair, who was much smarter and was a better businesswoman, was shuffled to the side because she was not as flamboyant as Chantal. To add insult to injury, the not very bright Chantal was being given credit for many of Sinclair's ideas.

It was obvious that Chantal and Roger were intended to be the villains in this book and I was not overly fond of them, but the person I found myself disliking the most was Sinclair's twin sister Kristy. The way she kept jumping in the middle of Sinclair and Hunter's business was very annoying. If Sinclair had been a much younger sibling who needed protecting I could have accepted that but they were twins! There's no reason Kristy should think that her opinions were so superior to those of Sinclair. I just didn't like her.

Overall I liked the book. I liked Sinclair and I really liked Hunter and I loved how patient Hunter was with Sinclair and I enjoyed reading about how he took her side when corporate enemies were out to get her. So, I guess I recommend the book because you don't have to like all the characters in order to like the book.

If you are thinking of purchasing this book, you might also want to purchase "The Billionaire Who Bought Christmas." The "Billionaire Who Bought Christmas," is the prequel to "Beauty and the Billionaire." It introduces Sinclair and Hunter, as well as describes how they met and helps define their relationship. In the books, Jack and Hunter Osland are cousins... and Kirsty and Sinclair Mahoney are fraternal twins.
Very interesting. It was witty and funny, the conversations were interesting and up beat and it was romantic. It flowed well and things actually made sense. I liked this book overall, i loved the characters and the scenes. I would definitely recommend this book for low drama, funny and humerous, a laid back read perfect for a lazy day.
