Yannara
Living the Tarot is like a tarot study bible. It's relatively easy to read - it flows well and she provides not only the typical descriptions and key concepts, but discusses the cards in context to her students as well as her own readings. In this aspect it almost becomes a case study on tarot. She really brings the cards to life. Living the Tarot uses the major arcana to examine the fools journey. The author also suggests doing exercises that will enhance your understanding of tarot.

So why only 4-stars you ask? Well, I don't like it when a tarot "expert" only addresses the Major Arcana. There is absolutely nothing on the minor arcana. I think that is almost negligible. There are 56 disenfranchised cards that are not represented. However, I'm willing to overlook it this time because the information that is provided is indispensable.

I would recommend this to not only the novice, but there are things in there that would enlighten an adept as well.

This book is important to read in terms of the study of the Tarot with the Major Arcana. It is very insightful, and helpful to better understand the symbolism of each of the Major Arcana cards. Great for beginners and even better for seasoned readers. It helps the reader connect to each card intuitively.

it is a great book of understanding the Esoteric aspects of the Tarot cards in relationship the the Tree of Life.

This is a very detailed book on the Qabalistic approach to the tarot! A great read and well written and easy to understand the principles.

Combining reading the chapters with coloring your own set of cards produces a deep understanding of the cards and a deeper understanding of yourself and others.

Hmmmm. Qabalah and Tarot. This is a must have book. If you have any desire to understand yourself at deeper levels, improve your life, and find greater magic in the little things this book will be most valuable.

I have had this book for some time and have used it more than I can mention. This book is my personal familiar (much better than a crow or a cat). The lessons are bottomless, they really go deep, but they are aimed directly at daily life--i.e., feeding the canary, going to work, doing the laundry, loving your family, fixing the car, etc. I use the book all the time to better understand myself, or at least try, while using the fascinating and ancient tools of Tarot and Qabalah. Using this book comes with many side effects: falling in love with yourself, becoming fascinated with Astrology, mythology, Gematria, and developing your own meditation practice.
Additionally, if you are sick of personal demons, sick of feeling stuck/uninspired, this opus will be most handy. It's more of an arsenal than a read; a box of tools as opposed to a tome. What I mean by this is each chapter comes with practical application exercises and samples from previous travelers who have used the techniques. If you try the exercises, color your cards, keep a journal, you'll find yourself transforming poison into medicine; you'll be a practicing alchemist by the end of the book.

One thing this book is NOT is a mess of New Age hoopla. The writer is obviously a matriarch of the Hermetic Sciences, and you will feel this behind her words; the writer stays fiercely loyal to the Western Mystery tradition as its been taught from mouth-to-ear for ages.

Jayanti is a natural teacher: easy to read, unthreatening, and at times downright funny. In this book about the Major Arcana, and suggestions for integrating its lessons into daily, routine life, Jayanti addresses each card, explaining symbolism (much that is not examined -- or known -- by other "specialists") and the beautiful life suggestions that come with each card.

The initial chapters are excellent examples of Tarot principles -- very down-to-earth and intuitive to follow; a good base for Tarot enthusiasts to remember.

Any person desirous of a spiritual compass, mirror, and lessonbook would be well served by this simple, unpretentious, and inspiring book, filled with pertinent, natural daily life exercises.

Some Tarot readers/users, although they proclaim differently, can be pretentious (in their "loving" ways), too-elevated-for-thee (thou?), or self-satisfied in their knowledge, even if that's negligible. I am a former student of Ms. Jayanti, and must add here that, different from so many Tarot practitioners, she is a joyous, very approachable, non-"foofy" person -- absolutely the best for approaching Tarot, which is exaggeratedly and often deliberately mystified by many who forget its more elevated, largely personal uses. Living in a paradise for artists, lefties, and remaining hippies types who compete in looking and presenting themselves as "alternative" and "artistic (read: a lot of surface doo-doo)," Amber Jayanti's approach was so very refreshing and real. Hopefully I will take more of her courses, which are uplifting and full of information, imparted in her lovely Santa Cruz home. Thank you, Amber, wherever you may be.
At last! A reflexive and practical approach to the Tarot! Between too many books about Tarot, almost all of them only with a predictive approach to this ancient wisdom, here comes an important tool for the serious wisdom seeker. I strongly recommend it to all esoteric students. For years I've been looking for a book that not only tell me about the meanings of each card, but that also guide me with reflexive questions to view the tarot wisdom in my own life and current circumstances. The added value of this book is the recommendations about how to integrate each arcane in you life. The personal experiences of the author and their students give you a clear idea of how to "live" the tarot. The Case's Tarot Deck, which is used as the images in this book, is an excellent deck. The incorporation of the Hebrew letters associated to each card is an asset of this book and the images inside it. I don't buy things like these if I'm not sure they are serious, but this book is different. I think I would buy some as gifts to some friends.

Pity it is not available in Spanish !!!!!
