Jewish Political Studies as a Field. Jewish political studies is one of the most recent fields to be separately articulated within the framework of the social scientific study of the Jews. The systematic and comprehensive study of the Jewish experience from a political science perspective began in the late 1950s. In the summer of 1981 the Center for Jewish Community Studies, by then part of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, inaugurated the Workshop on the Study and Teaching of the Jewish Political Tradition.
