Lack of exercise and excess weight due to edema at hatch or overfeeding are the main underlying causes of spraddle leg and progressive lateral rotation of the tibiotarsus and the tarsometatarsus. Limb musculoskeletal abnormalities are progressive and have an extremely poor prognosis; management practices must be in place to prevent their occurrence, including maintenance of an appropriate growth rate and provision of acceptable substrate and opportunity to exercise.

I bought this product a while ago. I still own this book. I had to buy it for my class for reading assignment. Its a hard cover book. This book is well organized and well written. Although I had to get it for my school and school assignments, I really loved the book. It was not boring to read. Most people buy this book because they have to for class, but its a great resource. I use it now as a review for my VTNE on exotic practice along side other resources as well. I really recommended this book and think its very exciting to read.

This book has a lot of good basics on many different species. It was recommended to me by a special species specialist at the University of Wisconsin. I don't see many exotics, so I reach for this book when I have to see something that I need "brushing up" on. Doesn't go into much detail, but will definitely give a good refresher.

This is a great book I was required to have for my classes. However I got the Kindle edition. I will never buy a textbook on Kindle again. THERE ARE NO PAGE NUMBERS!!!!! only location numbers specific to kindle that are completely irrelevant to the physical book. As far as learning goes, it is an easy read with helpful information.

Bought this for our Grandson's birthday and he was most appreciative. He is in his 3rd year at Veterinary School and shadowed an Exotic Pet doctor this summer; this book has become a necessary addition to his library.
Daigrel
This is a basic reference book for exotic animal medicine. Basic covering a wide variety of species.
May need another book for deeper reference.
Zulkigis
The book is easy to read, but because it deals with so many species, it does not include a very wide knowledge of all of them.

awesome book very useful in my daily practice
High quality press and coloured figures are very important and useful for exotic pet practitioners.
