Wow, like War and Peace for EMS. Apparently the standard text for a LOT of EMT programs. Used their EMR version last semester. Unlike other vendors you cannot view the book electronically on line, they are afraid you won't buy the paper version I guess. Tried to buy the audio version, but the links don't work.
The online quizzes resemble the ones you get in class, but only about 50% of the content is worthwhile. There are mistakes in diagrams they use for some of the quizzes. I tried several times to inform them of this, but they want me to ; describe in more detail, make copies of the page, outline what the correct information should be, and send it all to them.
HEY! I don't get PAID to do that! It would take at least an hour of my time to do so, without any compensation. Am too busy studying!
They have the PowerPoints online that they sell the schools, but the links are not active in the online version. NO explanations of the slides. There should be further material in each slide for details.
There ARE some good online links they supply if you want to take the time to explore them.
The book doesn't contain some of the American Heart Association material from as late as 2010. For example, I couldn't find the Ventilation rate before and after advanced airway intubation, nor if there was a difference in ventilation rate using a Bag Valve Mask with an airway adjunct.
Overall the book is okay. They make a lot of money selling it and the online access, and you HAVE to have the book..

The book is busted ! The book is marked all in, also has a huge coffee stain on the first 150 pages. The book didn't come with the My Brady lab Pearson access code like it was supposed too. The content is exactly what I wanted, but everything else has failed drastically to meet my expectations and I set the bar pretty low.

I have always been a fan of Pearson/Brady textbooks because of their ease of reading. My major disappointment is that you have to have a course ID from instructor to access the online eText and the online material that will help you study. There is no option for "self study" so do not waste your time purchasing this unless you can convince your instructor to set up a course ID. Also customer service will not transfer the access code it is a package deal. I wish I knew this ahead of time.

I bought this workbook along with the Emergency Care Textbook. This workbook in an invaluable tool in the development of an EMT's skills. I am currently in an EMT Academy and have been using this book non stop to perfect my skills and continue my education. The information is the current AHA requirement for EMT students and is easily understood and easy to use. This workbook was also the cheapest I found anywere and recommend anyone looking for the Workbook and Textbook for an EMT school to buy them here. Its the complete package for everything you need to succeed. I rate it at FIVE STARS and I will continue to use this book everyday.
FireWater
The definitive text for prehospital care. Good pictures and scenarios. Strait forward and easy to understand.
This version came with MyBradyLab. MyBradyLab is an excellent resource and I strongly recommend it.

Exactly what I needed for my EMT course. Came with mybradylabs user code. Book plastic was opened on the bottom, and small dent on bottom of book, makes me wonder if this is a return.. But seems good otherwise

This is the most complete, concise, well thought out out book combination of textbook/workbook I've ever seen.
I bought copies for my kids to read ahead of their upcoming EMT basic class. Just for kicks I read them too. WOW!
sure wish we had books like these back in the mid 60's when I worked as an ambulance attendent. Several of my patients would have benefitted from me having it too. Soory guys ...we did the best we could back then with basic and advanced 'first aid' training. So much better today!!!
What a great way to prepare for EMT school, especially in our case because this is their class textbook.
Amazon price saved me about $40.00 for the two sets compaired to their school bookstore price. That savings allowed us to buy some test flascards, etc.
I highly recommend this book duo to anyone preparing for EMT school, Yes, even if it won't be your textbook. It has a wealth of good, current and understandable test prep informastion.
Good luck to you all.
I like the "rent it" feature. the quality of the book was a bit questionable. It was claimed "in great condition" or something similar, however, the front cover was almost peeled off and someone had taken the liberty of writing in the book.

The text is accurate and there is definitely a difference between the 10th edition (which I own) and this edition, 12. I was happy to see the changes. For the money I paid, I got my dollar$ worth.
