Anatomy & Physiology is a 2-sequence course that nearly everyone that heads into healthcare has to take, and there are many misconceptions or stories about the course material. Naturally, A&P is a challenging course, but with a good instructor, good study habits (& motivation to study), and a good textbook, you should be set! The authors of the book, Tortora & Derrickson try their best to explain difficult concepts to the reader in a way that isn't super complex, but relatively reasonable.

Tortora's is sufficient if you want to combine anatomy and physiology in one textbook.
Bryan Derrickson of Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida joins Jerry Tortora as a co-author, bringing his background and expertise in physiology in balance with Jerry's focus on anatomy. Yet no CD. I mean, it has a little CD pouch or holder inside the front book cover, as if a CD should be inside of it. The pouch is shaped perfectly to hold a CD. But no CD. Weird. Tortora's is sufficient if you want to combine anatomy and physiology in one textbook.
Gerard J. Tortora is Professor of Biology and former Biology Coordinator at Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey, where he teaches human anatomy and physiology as well as microbi- ology. He received his bachelor's degree in biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and his mas- ter's degree in science education from Montclair State College.
