I really wanted to like this book on ethical reasoning. It simply doesn't connect with the reader - perhaps it's the British way, but there's little practical connection of the important concept of ethics to everyday life. Perhaps other graduate-level textbooks on ethics are no better, I wouldn't know. But after reading two of Thomson's books, I would say there would have to be. Год: 1999.

Nice book. Wish you did not have a number of words limit, but I will be using this for my course.

This is an excellent text for learning critical thinking. The book as a whole is well organized and very clear, and each chapter contains numerous well-designed exercises. Many of the exercises are taken from the arguments section of the Law School Admissions Test, so if you are planning to take the LSAT, this would make an excellent prep book.

This book is great for anyone who wants to develop analytical skills. Additionally, it's a good book for those who want to prepare for LSAT (logical reasoning) and write essays (whether GRE or LSAT)
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in improving critical reasoning skills.

Perhaps there's no good way to make a book on the purely academic subject of reasoning of much practical use. This was a text for a graduate class in critical reasoning I am taking, and it left me confused. The author has no apparent passion for her subject matter, and she fails to make it come alive. There are plenty of examples which make the actual text much shorter than it seems. I hope her next book is better.

There are books that just by reading any page from any chapter at random show their value unequivocally! This book strikes a perfect balance to be read between someone with basic education or another with academia. A review doesn't have to be long to explain "more than expected" satisfaction!
