Dry Spell brings Ken Krekeler's brutal insight, always delightfully free of pious cobwebs, to an angle of the "superhero" . The Dry Spell is a remarkable, and truly unique novel. Moloney writes beautiful and totally absorbing prose. She gets inside the characters to a degree I don’t often see.

Dry Spell brings Ken Krekeler's brutal insight, always delightfully free of pious cobwebs, to an angle of the "superhero" genre we don't get to see nearly enough of. It's a thoroughly satisfying, self-contained work that sets out to observe a particular thing and does so viciously, smartly and sparely. A small-town setting, Goodlands, North Dakota, is in trouble.

Compelling and an attention getter! By Thriftbooks. com User, June 30, 1999. I loved this book by an exceptional new Canadian author Susie Moloney. She weaves a wonderful tale of mystery, magic and sensuality. She develops wonderful characters and their relationships which many authors fail to do.

One of the best books I ever read, years ago, and found it on my shelf clearing books out for a spring book sale. It was chilling and had a great pace, would recommend for everyone to read.
