We are Catholic homeschoolers, and this book is chock-full of educational information that brings the places together with the Bible in a visual way unlike other books, even those with more pictures. Though the Bible references do not coincide with our Douay Rheims Bible, we know what the author is referring to and can look the passages up on our own after reading his book.

I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn more about Jesus and the Holy Land.

If your traveling solo or with a group like I did, both of these books go into the history of Israel and background into each site. I love the bible scriptures given as well that you can reference. I brought both books with me on my trip, they were great resources while in Israel!!

I also purchased the book called The Holy Land for christian travelers by John Beck. I have taken groups in the past to the Holy Lands and have used the book. It is easy to read, spot on in accuracy, Biblically well grounded.
