Double Standards book. I understand how couples are into kinky This is my first Judith McNaught book and though I have a problem with the story there's no denying that the author knows how to weave her words and pull a reader's attention. Her lyrical prose is stunning. I am in love with it however I am not in love with the story's ending or the Main Character's love interest.

Double Standards - Judith McNaught. 1. PHILIP WHITWORTH GLANCED UP, HIS attention drawn by the sound of swift footsteps sinking into the luxurious Oriental carpet that stretched across his presidential office. National Motors is giving him the contract to provide all the radios for the cars they manufacture, because Nick Sinclair beat our price by a lousy thirty thousand dollars. He drew in a furious breath and expelled it in a hiss. That bastard won a contract away from us by cutting our price a fraction of one percent!

Simon and Schuster, 1 нояб. Oh my god what can I say about this book ! It is one of those books which I can never get bored with! I really never thought reading would be this much fun and entertaining. Having known no other.

Lauren Danner wasn't usually impetuous with men. But Nick Sinclair was incredibly attractive and she acted on impulse-asking him out to lunch, accepting his counteroffer for the weekend. Everything she'd instinctively known about him turn out to be true. He was intelligent and sweet. The most romantic and exciting man she'd ever met. Too late she found out how he felt about commitments...

I thought I'd read all of JM's books but I somehow missed this one. Its an older one that is a little absurd in some aspects. For example Lauren takes off on a road trip with Nick - a man she doesnt even know- after telling him she's new in town and knows no one. So basically if he wants to take her to the woods and kill her no one will miss her. No one with any sense would do that.
Lauren's character is basically a mash up all the heroines from the author's hustorical romances. I could have skipped this one and read Almost Heaven or Whitney My Love and been fine... that being said a just OK Judith McNaught book is still better than a great book by most of today's romance authors. This author really knows how to tug the heartstrings.

Romance novels don't get any better than this!! This book gets a 10 on romance! A ten on alpha male lead ! A ten on virgin heroine! A ten on humor! A ten on plot and a ten on intrigue! When Nick gets mad because some sends Lauren a huge bouquet of roses and remarks "you must've gotten a lot better" then she says " I had a better teacher " I literally laughed out loud! Great book!!?

I absolutely love this story! I'm a huge fan of this author since the 80's. I'm so glad her books are finally available in Amazon. I have read this story over the years countless times and it never gets old and is still relevant today. After reading hundreds of other authors, she's still my favorite. This is a must read along with all her other books. I miss her books; why did she stop writing? Where is she?

Have read this book at least 7x’s....just love the story line...maybe because the heroine is such an inexperinced young lady...and finally learning to grow up..and deal with realities...Love this author ...all her books are wonderful...Have read them all many times....

This is another favorite book of mine by Judith McNaught. It takes me back to the days of secretaries working beside their bosses. What a love story. Keep in mind that this story takes place in the 80s when sexual harassment wasn't an issue.

Enjoy.

I read this book years ago when it first came out. I have since re-read it numerous times and it still makes me laugh, cry and believe in miracles. I have a well worn copy in my night stand and am overjoyed that it is now on my Kindle. If you only read one romance in your life, this needs to be it.

I read Double Standards when it first came out in 1992, and have done so many times since then. If you like Judith's books, you'll love this one. It's full of love, devastation, and joy. You'll find yourself pulling so hard that these two will find the happy conclusion they deserve.
I love Judith Mcnaught but this is not her best book, several others have been really great, hard to put down. This is good but a bit predicable. I am not done with it yet so it still may surprise me in the end
