Stranger in a Strange Land is a 1961 science fiction novel by American author Robert A. Heinlein. It tells the story of Valentine Michael Smith, a human who comes to Earth in early adulthood after being born on the planet Mars and raised by Martians, and explores his interaction with and eventual transformation of Terran culture. The title "Stranger in a Strange Land" is an allusion to the phrase in Exodus 2:22. According to Heinlein, the novel's working title was The Heretic.

I purchased the book at a reasonable price, but it was missing several assignment sheets.

I'm taking General college chemistry I and this is the chem book were using in lab. It doesn't list the ISBN for certain, so it could be either the General Chem I or General Chem II or organic chem for any institution, but it's the same cover as mine. Mine says Chem 111 -- Penn Valley Community College on the bottom, as I will link to

It's a custom edition that the publishers claim holds "original content" that is merely tried-and-true labs they are recycling. Although they are good labs, (I've found that students taking AP chemistry had the same ones) the cost at my local bookstore of $70 was kind of outrageous. Since the bookstore doesn't buy them back, they had no used copies to sell. I even went so far as to post an ad on Craig s list. Only one other student in my class bought their book from a third party, another student in one of his classes who took General College Chemistry I and had to write lab reports and never wrote in the book, sold him her copy.

My recommendation: contact your chemistry teacher early/visit the bookstore and write down the names of the labs in these books. The publishers are greedy, but lazy, they maintain the same name for all the labs. A quick Google search of the lab name in quote will bring it up.

I give it 3 stars, because the book is good and teaches basic chemistry techniques, like decanting, separating ternary mixtures, using Benedict's reagent and titration so far But the price the publisher is selling it at is basically highway robbery
