The Magic Hat is about a hat that belongs to a wizard. This story is written by Mem Fox. It was also illustrated by Tricia Tusa. This story would be good to cheer up a younger brother or sister. It is a very funny book. So begins Mem Fox's marvelous new picture book, and youngsters are in for a delightful treat as they watch this attractive, blue chapeau drift through the countryside, landing on unsuspecting heads and turning them into animals.

From Publishers Weekly: The titular topper of this rollicking, rhyming read-aloud is indeed magic: when it blows into town one day, it plops down on the head of resident after resident, instantly transforming each person into an animal.

It tumbles and bounces through the air and makes magic wherever it lands. Everyone is delighted as, one by one, the townspeople are transformed into giant play. Mrs. Spitzer's Garden.

The beauty of a living thing is not the atoms that go into it, but the way those atoms are put together. It tumbles and bounces through the air and makes magic wherever it lands.

This is a really great little read aloud. Nice and short for those young ones who can't listen for long. Plus it works with rhyming, prediction, and other concepts too. I've actually opened this before but when I couldn't find my copy I had to get it again. I couldn't be without this book.

I love this book (as I do most Mem Fox books) the rhythm pattern makes it a joy to read aloud and the rhyming text helps children to predict which surprise will appear next. A firm favourite in our house

This is a great read aloud to inspire imagination in kids 2 - 2nd grade! Make them their own magic hat to use to explore their imagination! Great as a gift for a newborn if you have the skill/talent to knit or crochet a hat to match the one in this book!

I was given the Magic Hat when I had my first child, and I fell in love with Mem Fox's books. They are fun, captivating, and beautifully and colorfully illustrated. This still remains my favorite of hers though.

Great rhyming and predicting book for preschool age children. We read it in our class several times throughout the school year and the kids are always delighted.
Hilarious Kangaroo
A lovely book to share with children and to support an inspiring author

This is my second copy of this book. Wore the first one out.
Great book especially if you enjoy incorporating dance and movement with kids as you read.
