This is a great book. Too bad it is out of print and I am grateful I found a used copy on Amazon.

My two year old son enjoys the book and recognizes a few of the birds featured in the book from his own back yard. Wonderful illustrations and rhyming verse. If you have a little nature lover who needs a counting book, this is a winner.

Just a heads up, there is a pet cat antagonist in this story, countered by a squirrel as the unlikely protagonist. Nothing gory happens, but it may give you a nice opportunity to gently explain/evangelize why house cats belong in the house. My son actually likes cats, too, so he enjoys the tension the cat brings to the story.

This is a great book. I appreciate the author taking the time to bring it into being.

This lovely book has beautiful art work and a sweet story line. I wish I had it in hardback! After seeing it in a children's play area at a museum, I bought two copies for grandsons because they love watching birds.

Great book to teach preschoolers how to identify birds. Great suspense. Our son just loves this book!

I love to use this book in my preschool class. The pictures are vibrant & there are many fun activities to do with it. I make a memory game with the pictures in the back & I teach the children what each bird sounds like with a bird cd. I also let the children act out the story with the pictures printed as well.

Beautiful book, read it after you have watched birds at a bird feeder and it will feel sort of magical. The basic story is easy and rhyming but then there is some subtext with some interesting facts that captured my older child's attention as well.
Yadon
This is a beautifully illustrated, educational, fun book for young children. My grandchildren love it. One of their favorite books.
