These are some of the best books for babies to touch and feel different textures.

This story is really cute, not scary at all, very short and meant for very young children. I wish they were still commonly sold in the USA but I would recommend almost all of these touchy feely books by Usborne if you come across them.

Keep in mind British English is a bit different, so some words might seem weird to Americans. I recommend just changing it when you read, if you can't relate to some of the words. It's the textures and pictures that are the best part of these books for young children.

These Usborne touch and feel books are awesome! I was sent the wrong one but the seller quickly corrected the mistake and let me keep the one sent by mistake. My son loves both of them so much. He has me read them to him 1-2 times a day. He loves the scratchy, bumpy and rough textures the most. The shiny and smooth texture pages get flipped fast and very little time is spent feeling these. I highly recommend these books and this seller.

This marvelous book allows children to "feel" their way through a series of trains, searching for "their train." One train has wheels that are "too squashy," another has a funnel that is "too rusty." At the end, children find the train they've been looking for. On each page, part of the illustration is textured, and there is quite a variety among the textures. The pages are thick and easy to turn. The simple lines and bold colors in the illustrations are appealing to little ones. There isn't too much text, and it has nice repetition and rhythm to it.

My 1-year-old son absolutely loves this book. He will sit for 15 minutes at a time, just flipping through the pages and feeling the various textures. I would highly recommend it, as well as Usborne's other "touchy-feely" books.

This is our 3rd Thats Not My...... book.
My 2 year old also has Monster and dinosaur and both are well read.
He has a new fascination with trains so I thought this would be liked, and it was an instant hit!

These books are perfect for the little ones. Great colorful and whimsy illustrations. VERY nice, different, and sizeable textile features for touching and visual interest. They also use great descriptive words encouraging my son to say new words like Shiney, squashy, and glossy.
With 3 books in this series I am also impressed that there is not too much repetitive fabrics or descriptions. Yes there is a few same textile features between the books so far, but not enough that the toddlers would notice.

The book is well made. My grandson loves to feel the different surfaces on each page as we read the book.

This book is short and keeps childrens' attention. It has things they can feel and they love to look at it over and over.
Love these touchy-feely series of books, but found the train one is only ok. The one on the front cover is the best, and the rest of the trains don't really seem to encourage the reaching out and touching that many of the other books in this series do. Not bad overall, but just many others we like better.
