Most of the books that changed my life are not currently in my possession. He published the Tractatus anonymously, and his publisher changed the city and the name of the printing house to protect themselves from retribution by the Church. This treatise was highly critical of the Church’s stance on a number of issues, and approached the idea of the Deity from a philosophical standpoint, discarding dogma that could not be proven by reason alone.

Seductive: Mills & Boon books were allowed to be printed during the Second World War when paper was rationed to boost the morale of women. When I first met my ex-boyfriend, he was everything I wanted - he was tall, handsome, older and very well travelled. Even now, despite being dismissed as old-fashioned, one Mills & Boon book is sold every three seconds in the UK -– making it one of the most popular of guilty pleasures - and the market for romantic novels is worth £118 million. Damaging relationships: Fans of romantic comedies like Notting Hill, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, also have unrealistic expectations about love.

Emily Jackson is a beautiful Nurse Practitioner who had a love affair with Dr. Benedict Legrange, the man she fell in love with while he was on a short term assignment at the hospital in Bride's Bay. After the handsome, virile doctor went back home to Paris to take care of family business Emily discovered she was pregnant. She flies to Paris to inform him he is going to be a father and he treats her terribly, shattering her heart, denying that the child was his. Now Emily is raising her incredible son, Theo, alone and still thinks about the man who broke her heart and crushed her spirit.

Dr. Ben has been invited to spend a week with some friends in Bride's Bay and reluctantly agrees to the visit. He is hoping he doesn't run into the woman who devastated him by claiming he was the father of her child. He was shocked and dismayed when he realized Emily's deception and was unnecessarily cruel to her for trying to push another man's child off on him. He knew that after his cancer treatments five year earlier that he had been diagnosed as infertile because of the cocktail of drugs he had been given.

When Ben arrives in Bride's Bay his plan is to avoid Emily at all cost but a medical emergency throws them together. He unintentionally sees her young son...who is the mirror image of himself. He is shocked and awed by this discovery. But the boy couldn't be his...could it??

I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it. My only problem and reason for not giving this book a 5-star rating was because there was so much repetition.

The Son That Changed His Life is the second installment in best-selling author Jennifer Taylor's trilogy about three single mums who find love again in the beautiful coastal town of Bride's Bay!

Smart, sophisticated and as sexy as sin, gorgeous French doctor Benedict Legrange began setting hearts aflutter from the very first moment he set foot in Bride's Bay. But nobody had been more impressed by the charismatic French doctor than Nurse Emily Jackson. The two of them had formed an instant connection and friendship had soon given way to a passion that simply could not be denied. Emily had thought that she had finally found the man she was going to be spending the rest of her life with - until she found out that she was carrying Benedict's child. Emily had always dreamed of having a family of her own, and although she had never discussed this with Benedict, she knew that there was no other man she wanted to be the father of her children. Emily had flown to Paris intent on surprising Benedict with her good news, but her fledgling happiness was quickly replaced by shock. An angry Benedict had refused to believe that he was the father of her child and Emily had had no other choice but to fly back home to England, broken-hearted yet determined to raise her baby on her own. Emily vowed to give her adorable son Theo the best possible childhood and to put her relationship with Benedict behind her. But Emily quickly realizes that forgetting about Benedict is easier said than done - especially as he has just returned to Bride's Bay!

Benedict Legrange needs some time to rest and recuperate. Having had a challenging couple of years, Benedict finds himself in need to recharge his batteries and to try and move on with his life after a grueling battle with cancer. Benedict is well aware of how precious and how fragile life can be - which is why he had promised himself never to let anyone get close to him ever again. The last time he had let anyone close, he had been completely and utterly devastated after being taking for a fool by a woman who claimed that he had fathered her child - something which he knows is medically impossible. Despite the fact that Emily Jackson had lied to him, Benedict hasn't managed to forget the beautiful English nurse - nor has he stopped himself wishing that things could have been different for the two of them.

However, on his return to Bride's Bay, Benedict is stunned when he runs into Emily and her son, Theo - who looks just like him! Realizing that Emily had been telling the truth all along, Benedict is determined to make up for lost time and to get to know his son.

As old feelings resurface and never forgotten passions are reignited, Emily and Ben find themselves getting closer. But is Ben willing to face up to his fears and to grasp this second chance at happiness? Or will he end up losing the family he loves more than anything else in the world?

A superbly written tale of hope, redemption and forgiveness, The Son Who Changed His Life is a first-class contemporary romance that plumbs deep into the heart of the human spirit and touches the soul.

Emily and Benedict's love story is written with depth, sensitivity and pathos and readers are sure to take these two characters - and their beautiful son, Theo - to their hearts and cheer them on the road to getting the happy ending which they so richly deserved.

Powerful, compassionate and poignant, The Son Who Changed His Life is a brilliant read from an outstanding writer who always delivers: Jennifer Taylor!
