3 Greek Mythology is explicitly embodied in a large collection of narratives .

Patrick Auerbach Greek Mythology: The Ancient Myths and Legends of Greek Mythology. Greek Mythology is the body of myths and teachings that belong to the ancient Greeks, concerning their gods and heroes, the nature of the world, and the origins and significance of their own cult and ritual practices. Greek Mythology is explicitly embodied in a large collection of narratives, and implicitly in Greek representational arts, such as vase-paintings and votive gifts. Greek myth attempts to explain the origins of the world, and details the lives and adventures of a wide variety of gods, goddesses, heroes, heroines and mythological creatures.

Symbols and Meanings. With its vast world, a great deal of mythical creatures and engrossing myths about Olympian gods and Titans, it is surely easy to be captivated by Greek mythology at the very first glance. For almost a century, Bulfinch’s Mythology was one of the most popular books published in the United States while also being considered the standard for classical mythology works. Still in print more than a century and a half later, it is a true gem for all mythology enthusiasts as it covers Greek, Norse and Celtic mythologies and many tales from around the world, including Oriental fables.

The book has some nice photographs and some good information about ancient Persian beliefs. But the book is really about Zoroastrianism, both past and present. A significant amount of the book is about how the Parsis live today.

As an overview of Persian culture from pre-Achaemenid to the twenty first century it does a good job. But don't expect a deep dive into specific mythologies.
