Information on this issue can be deduced from Hebrew inscriptions from the final phase of the first Temple period. We report our investigation of 16 inscriptions from the Judahite desert fortress of Arad, datedca 600 BCE-the eve of Nebuchadnezzar's destruction of Jerusalem. The inquiry is based on new methods for image processing and document analysis, as well as machine learning algorithms. The Book of Isaiah is one of the most quoted or alluded to Old Testament books by the apostle Paul. The contribution studies these quotations or allusions in First Corinthians.

Ketef Hinnom (Hebrew : כֵּתֵף הִינוֹם. katef hinom, "shoulder of Hinnom") is an archaeological site southwest of the Old City of Jerusalem, adjacent to St. Andrew's Church, now on the grounds of the Menachem Begin Heritage Center. It is located where the Valley of Rephaim and the Valley of Hinnom meet, on the old road from Jerusalem to Bethlehem. Gabriel Barkay is an Israeli archaeologist.
