Aird's characters are nicely drawn and that in great part redeems the disappointment of a solution suddenly preselected rather than developed, not to speak of a lot of loose ends. Four stars because many of the characters are so nicely drawn.

I like the constant references to poems, Shakespeare, etc. And the lack of suspense and violence. I did catch the clue but didn't think of the person as the murderer. Still a bit dubious about strength etc. Good read. Well worth the time.

I love British mysteries but this book was a bit too boring to enjoy. I finished it only to see "whodunnit" but it was a chore.

Harm's Way is a good mystery and well written but it is too long on banter. It should have been edited to move the narrative along.

I always like her DI Sloan stories. They are all different and not repetitious.

Leeyes, Sloan & Crosby are back with an intriguing plot, breezy dialogue, and deft characterization. Aird's style improves with practice.

Good escape read.
I ordered this book, because I enjoyed all other Dorner thrillers (especially "Nightmare"), but this is actually "Nightmare". I don't understand why there is no law that makes it impossible for publishers to publish the same book with two different titles.
But I guess that's what amazon reviews are for: to warn other readers to order this book when they already have a copy of "Nightmare".
