Andrew Neitlich received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College in 1987 and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1991. He is the founder and director of the Center for Executive Coaching at ww. ching. com, an Approved Coach Training Program (ACTP) with the International Coach Federation that has trained over 1,000 coaches from around the world. Part of my Executive Coach training was with Andrew Neitlich. He is a straight talker and practical - just what I needed.

Andrew has written a number of books about leadership and coaching, including The Way to Coach Executives and Elegant Leadership: Simple Strategies, Remarkable Results (both of which are proprietary textbooks for Center for Executive Coaching members). In partnership with Guerrilla Marketing Founder he co-authored Guerrilla Marketing for a Bulletproof Career, and Guerrilla Marketing for Coaches.

I don't read too many books by leadership or management consultants, because they usually offer pat, superficial advice. What I loved about Elegant Leadership is that it let me come up with my own answers about how to improve performance and lead more effectively, based solely on my experiences and corporate culture.
Mr. Neitlich does a great job providing frameworks to help the reader think about leadership issues, and then he asks structured, powerful questions so that we can think more deeply about how we lead. Also, unlike many other books, he provides a balanced, holistic view of leadership -- incorporating behavior, attitudes, conversations, and ways of thinking. I will refer to this book often, and give it to colleagues, managers, and direct reports. It has the ability to positively effect the way best business practices are conducted.

This is marketing at its very best. Write a book rehashed from multiple other books, brand yourself and distill old wine in new bottle. Ask friends for a review. I have a copy of this book and this is not worth the time or money. Its clear that the author knows nothing about leadership and is portraying himself to be an expert in this area. As a standard practice, I am wary of books where predominant number of reviews are written by non verified purchases. Absolutely avoid buying this.

I was given this book and I now use it with all of my clients and they love it. Andrew presents leadership in a very digestible, interactive way. This isn't just a book about leadership, it's a course that will change you.
