many good things in this book. however, there are many things lacking. most importantly, some sort of clear guidance on how to work this system. the chapter on that leaves much to be desired. Also, i am wondering why this system, if it so great, why didn't i hear about it years ago? The thing is, i walk a very fine line between being a BLUE and a GREEN. my green side sees the error of the presentation of this book. and how they portrayed a blue in their little heroes video, umm.. no. i am not like that, or all blues for that matter.... as the woman who told me about this work is a BLUE herself. That actor was portrayed as kind of a wuss. Blues are NOT like that. And I don't go around wanting to hug the entire planet. So there is no direction on if you are strongly TWO of the types. I had also called their office to find out more about becoming certified to teach this information, and that well to the wayside-- on their end. I had signed up to their email list etc, and they come far and few in between. Which makes me think this system itself is not well put together. Clearly, my GREEN side is dominating in this review. And those cards that come in the book? Whoever the designer was on these... there is much to be desired there as well. i should know, I spent much of my career as a graphic designer and was quite good at it as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan on reading it again. Follow Your True Colors to the Work You Love doesn't just help you figure out what career to go into, it also helps you understand yourself better, as well as others. Carolyn Kalil writes this book from a very positive standpoint and it helps to build your self-esteem while helping you come to a realization of what your life's work should be. I really enjoyed understanding more about myself as well as how I can use my natural gifts and talents in my life's work. I would recommend this book to anyone. Even if you aren't looking to start a new career or change careers this book can be very helpful for getting to know yourself better and realizing what will truly make you happy.

I enjoy both the Jungian and True colors personality typing, and feel it presents well. My biggest complaint would be that this book lacks a comprehensive test to color type, but the system is easy enough to figure out--that said, I am a green so maybe my ability to solve problems is better than others. I am using this book to figure out what profession to get into now. I found it really funny that many of the compatible jobs for greens where either 1.) jobs I have interest in (FBI agent, Criminologist, Psychologist, Fiction novel writer) or 2.) jobs I have done or have degrees in (acupuncturist, film director/producer, text book writer, graphic artist, lyricist, scriptwriter, college professor).

Definately a good read, Get to know yourself and understand others around you better.

I first used this book at the career center of the community college I was attending. The questions and the activities, as well as the four color-coded cards (green, blue, orange, yellow), really put my goals into perspective, and helped me understand why I was having so much trouble fitting into any of my jobs. Despite the present economic downturn, I am working toward my degree in anthropology (minor in English) to pursue a career as an Archivist. For all you professional misfits out there, this book is definitely for you.

Life changing. Plain and simple. This book will give you a clear picture of self and others. It literally saved my relationship. I now teach this concept to y co-workers. I'm sure Amazon thanks me as the book has been purchased by many of the people I introduced to it. I absolutely LOVE it. I live by it.

Best book after the Bible along with "Coming Home" by Martia Nelson! This book is classic must-have, not just for working professional, but for anyone from teenager to parent, to a professional in any field.

Generally an easy to read book with exercises and discussion of personality types, etc. Not too different in message from the original book that discussed matching careers to personality and passions, etc.
too simple, if we knew ourselves this well, we wouldn't have gotten in to the wrong kind of work
