The 727 was Boeing's response to a successful French model called the Caravelle. The Caravelle's engines were located in the rear of the fuselage, uncluttering the wings and reducing cabin noise. Boeing adopted this design for its three-engine 727, which carried 143 passengers.

The story behind Soleimani’s assassination seems to go much deeper . The US cannot contemplate the idea of the dollar losing its status as the global reserve currency.

The story behind Soleimani’s assassination seems to go much deeper than what has thus far been reported, involving Saudi Arabia and China as well the US dollar’s role as the global reserve currency. The Iraqi prime minister, Adil Abdul-Mahdi, has revealed details of his interactions with Trump in the weeks leading up to Soleimani’s assassination in a speech to the Iraqi parliament. While Doha and Riyadh would be the first to suffer economically from such an agreement, Beijing’s economic power is such that, with its win-win approach, there is room for everyone.

A detailed review of the concept and creation of the Boeing 727--an airplane I flew in all three cockpit positions. Written shortly after it became operational, it discloses that the decision to proceed with its production was no slam dunk, but it eventually went on to become one of the great airliners of its era.

A very early book on the 727. Some parts about the decision to go with 2,3 or 4 engines and tail design were interesting. However, there is a LOT of verbiage that could have been left out. All in all VERY dry reading.

An excellent behind-the-scenes look at one of Boeing's biggest gambles. Excellent detail, well worth the price. Who'd have though the 727's biggest competitor was Boeing's own 720? Or just how close it came to being a twin-jet. A must for any airliner buff and Boeing fan.
