Jan R. Williams is Dean and Professor Emeritus of the College of Business Administration at the University of Tennessee―Knoxville, where he has been a faculty member since 1977. He received a BS degree from George Peabody College, an MBA from Baylor University, and a PhD from the University of Arkansas. He previously served on the faculties at the University of Georgia and Texas Tech University.

This textbook is a good supplement to a financial accounting class by giving a general overview of financial accounting practices. However the explanations can get boring at times, like most textbooks one reads.
Inside you find a good amount of problems to work on. What I do not like about this textbook is that there are no answers provided for the problems at the end of each chapter. The only answers you have are for the Let’s Review sections scattered within a chapter labeled in red. A URL is included in the Let’s Review section for a video on the problem to further guide you in how the problem works. Because of the lack of answers, this textbook might not be for you if you want to self-study the subject.

This book works really well for the class I was taking. I got an older edition for my class and everything is very clear.

The book was amazing for my class. I wish it had a little bit more of an index that allowed for quick look up information. And a glossary compiled for all chapters collectively, not just at the end of the module.
