I didn't dig in this book. I just took a graduate class and this book was required. The class was fun though :)
The book was ok. A dense read I needed for a class. Provided the reference I needed, but other than that it was passable.

Authors are opinion leaders in the area and provide a synthesis of an incredible amount of research findings. A must for instructional designers, tutors, administrators and policy makers.
