The strength of this series is in its charts. The charts diagram progression of TCM theories so the can be clearly seen and divided into root causes. One of the best ways to grasp TCM is to diagram out the connections so you can see what belongs where. Drawing them out helps with memory work. I have always read Foundations and drawn out the connections. This book has all the diagrams, and from angles I never thought of, showing connections that had been obscure to me before. Both Fundamentals and Diagnostics are excellent for the student, and Diagnostics for Syndrome studies.

Wish I knew about this book 2.5 years ago when I started learning TCM...THIS is the best book, forget about that b.s. Maciocia stuff, and it's NOT in "Chinglish" it's very well translated! Just the flow of the paragraphs are a little confusing, but once you understand which one follows which then it works....that's the only negative, I say this is a 4.5 star book for sure!

Except for some awkward language (it was published in China, after all), the book delivers exactly what I was looking for: clear no-frills introduction to TCM. Somehow, I trust this author more than Maciocha.
