But on some words with c just before the pair of e and i, like receive, perceive, "e" comes before "i". This can be remembered by the following mnemonic, I before E, except after C. Very well written (and I especially appreciate the phonetic spellings when new words are introduced), but the formatting needs some work. There are tables where the text occasionally overlaps and once Chapter 2 "Mnemonics" begins the text becomes fairly painful to decipher. Two examples read like the following: "ab-able Although an able combat veteran Joe away from, (ab) could not get far enough away from not spiders. It was a real phobia," and "ambi- Bambi Bambi seemed trapped. There was a both, on both ambo- bamboo fence on both sides, but he was sides around (am-bee-oh) able to jump the smallest one to safety." Hopefully it can be fixed!
