I loved taking this Criminal Justice class. I also enjoyed reading this book. Very easy to follow and made my online class super easy. Coming from a law enforcement family, I think this book is very informative and well written.

Its hard to review a textbook in my opinion. I will review the book thus far as I have been using it in my criminal justice class. I think the information contained in the book is delivered well and easy to understand. The use of modern day cases helps make understanding the chapters easier. Its very nice to be able to rent the textbook for the class that you need and then return it upon completion. This feature saves me a lot of money and hassle from having to sell the book after the class in finished. I would have rather had a hard covered book rather than the paperback version just because its not as flimsy, but I am making due. This book will more than suit your needs for your college coursework.

This book is very well written and organized.
From front to back there are close to 600 pages.
16 chapters broken down into five major portions: The Criminal Justice System Today, The Police and Law Enforcement, The Criminal Court, Rehabilitation & Corrections and lastly Special Issues.
Each chapter starts with a story or case that is referred to throughout the chapter, with section summaries.
Also in the each chapter there are ethical scenarios with a "You Be The Judge" ending.
Each chapter is about 30 to 40 pages each.

This has been a very good book and I wish you the best in your studies using it

This review is on the condition of the book. The book came in fabulous condition. It was sold as used, good condition. It looks awesome! The cover shows some wear, but the pages are in perfect condition. I was not expecting the book to be in this great of condition. I'm quite pleased. Hard to comment on the content of the book, it's required for a college course I'm taking and not for personal reading.

Bought this book for a criminal justice class. Overall, it's a pretty good book. What I like about it the most is its ability to spark discussion over topics mentioned in the book. It's even okay just to read. The layout is eye catching and even entertaining. It's not boring. It covers all kinds of different issues such as profiling, psychological disorders, family problems, and much more. I really liked this book, but I wouldn't have bought it if i didn't have to. Most of the information this book offers is available basically everywhere on the internet, etc. Not bad.

As text books go, this one by far has been the most useful for me. Not only is it well written and easy to read but this particular edition was loose-leafed, meaning, its a set of loose pages that are hole punched for a binder. I did not realize this when I bought it or I might have never made the purchase- but let me tell you, I am glad I received this edition. because the pages are not bound, I have been able to pull out 1-2 chapters at a time for reading instead of carrying the whole book around. Also because this is the book used for CJ101 it covers a broad spectrum of topics within criminal justice which makes it a good sources for research papers in other CJ classes.

At first my main concern was not being able to sell this book after the semester because it is not a bound book, but now it doesn't matter because I wish to keep it as an alternative source for future papers. As far as 101 books are concerned- and especially concerning the THE PRICE FOR THE HARD COVER EDITION OF THIS BOOK BEING OUT OF THIS WORLD- this cheaper loose leafed version was completely satisfactory and appeasing. Its a good buy. You will not be disappointed (just make sure youre getting the loose-leafed edition).

Book is easy to understand concepts. I also loved how if you were reading one chapter, and it briefly mentioned parole for example, in parenthesis, it would tell you what chapter it was first mentioned. I've never seen any other book so helpful

Used it for a class I had in summer school. Didn't want to purchase the book at school just for the few weeks I was going to need it for, so I decided to rent it. It was the exact copy I was looking for. Arrived super fast. Great investment.
