As a child in the 50's, I was a great fan of this comic strip and continued being a fan until Al Capp died. I have purchased all of the "Completes" printed to date and will continue to do so until the series is completed.
Purestone
Perfectly and deliriously insane. Capp was early Mad Magazine before there was an early Mad Magazine. I can't believe that 40 million people a week read this wild, misanthropic stuff. This is the first volume in the Li'l Abner series I've purchased, but I'm getting the rest.
Anyshoun
only black and white
Stanober
Until he became an old rich fart in the sixties, Al Capp was brazen, insane and hilarious. There's a lot of offensive stereo types here especially with native people, but no one was spared in this strip. Especially rich capitalists.
GoodBuyMyFriends
One of the best periods from one of the best comics ever
Flamehammer
One of the greatest comic strips of all time. Creative and intelligent entertainment. If you love good old comic strips this is the one to read.

Lil Abner was an awesome satire with visual humour and word play as well as great satire making it an all round funny strip. This particular year was amongst the best with some very un-PC gags. There is no space in the newspaper for a strip this detailed in drawing now. Another reason papers aren't selling as well. Highly recommended.
all the lil abner meet my expectations as I so much pleasure reading them !
