I wish I could of had this book years ago. On evaluating conformation of a horse, it gives you specific ratios to look for, ie if the pastern is only half the length of the cannon bone, it is too short. If it us more than 3/4,it is too long. I now realise my horse was shod incorrectly with a too small shoe. My saddle was too big. I could go on and on. And I thought I was pretty well informed! Nope. Whether you ride dressage, barrel race, trail or hunters, get this book. You will find a lot of very helpful information.

This book is great. It actually tells me what I need to do and think of first. It helps that it is step by step. Also seeing what equipment to use and what kind of horse I need also helped.

Good book to read, lots of insight from the author, focus's on different aspects of barrel racing other than just barrels. Not a guide but more of a reading book. She has some great suggestions and different perspectives.
