first of all. iam protesting this book by using only lowercase letters to show the author their value, and how only using CAPS in most cases is not only amateurish, but nowadays is seen as rude!

here's a book those with beginners interest in lettering. and by beginners, i mean, those who have never attempted any creative lettering before and likely didn't learn cursive.

what is inexcusable, however, (and this absolutely floors me) is that the writer completely failed in a major way by not displaying examples of both the upper and lowercase letters!

i'm stumped at this oversight as it renders the fonts in this book, well, useless in most cases. the premise is great--but useless. however if you have the natural gift of filling in half of an artist's omitted work, and your natural artistic know-how is above genius level, even though the ability to use basic lettering that every teenager could invent in a pinch.... this is your book!

i'm sure you could guess what the lowercase "q" or "g" looks like...or at least have a few hours to play with it enough to match the capital letter examples.... ( if so, go pro!) you possess a a creative streak that most typographers would envy.

Otherwise it's as useful as a text message written by my 16 year old. roflmao.

or just butcher the time and effort the font creator put in by just guessing at the design. both cases of the fonts apparently exist, as they are beautifully shown on the very well done examples of their use on the card photos. We're on our own to actually use these fonts in a practical way however, it's an inexcusable failure.

It gets two stars only because beginners will get an understandable crash course on the elements of typography and its uses.

I would give this book 5 stars except the alphabets are not shown in upper and lower cases. Each font only shows the alphabet in either upper or lower, but not both. This is some what disappointing when the cover shows an adorable card with lower case letters that are not to be found in the book. There are several examples of cards and scrapbook pages that this is true for inside the book as well.

There are one or two good fonts, but no examples of capitals and lowercase for the same font. There are no examples of numbers.

This would have to be 99¢ for me to even CONSIDER buying it, knowing what I know now. It was too short... on ideas for lettering, and on pages.

It's a good book for card making (: ... But it doesn't have the tutorial for all the letters; it does, however, have the finished sample for all the letters and the extra practice pages on the back. OVERALL: GOOD BOOK! (:
