John Vince has written many books and articles about bygone England and the countryside, including Windmills and Watermills for Shire in the Discovering series. He has a particular interest in ancient crafts and industries and he collects and restores rural bygones. This book was a gift to a friend together with an antique horse brass from England. My friend has worked and is very knowledgeable about Shires and Clydesdales and now has an added interest. I am sure this book, albeit small, is a very good introduction to the subject.
