This is an excellent book on Christian worship. The ditors, Geoffrey Wainwright and Karen B. Westerfield Tucker have put together a significant number of articles about the various contexts in which. Karen Westerfield Tucker is a United Methodist elder in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference, Professor of Worship at Boston University School of Theology, and Chair of the Worship and Liturgy Committee for the World Methodist Council.

In succession to W.D. Maxwell's An Outline of Christian Warship (1936), this book provides a comprehensive history of Christian worship from the New Testament to the present, drawing both on original sources and the work of modern scholars.
