Annonaceae are classified into four subfamilies, Anaxagoreoideae, Annonoideae, Ambavioideae and Malmeoideae. The experiment evaluated the initial development of seedlings of native and exotic tree species in reforestation, as the basis for the choice of tree species in a soil classified as Latossolo Vermelho Amarelo distrófico, in the south of the Espírito Santo state, Brazil. Measurements were made quarterly in height and stem diameter, from 9 months old.
