This is by far, one of the most horrendous design ideas I have ever seen. My professor told us current textbook creators believe students love this method as it keeps costs down. This book was $160. Please see attached photo... so, now I need to go out to find a binder to put this in (Yay to spending more money on this book). Or while studying and toting this around I have to be careful not to lose pages or damage them.... Ebooks from now on, idiot administrators. This is impractical, irritating, overpriced, and frankly an incredibly foolish idea.

This loose leaf version's pages are very thin and tear as you try to turn them. I have tried to be as delicate and mindful as possible while flipping through the pages but when trying to turn multiple pages at a time (like holding a page in the chapter while trying to flip through the index) the pages cannot handle the weight of trying to flip multiple pages at a time and start to tear at the hole punches. I suppose you could buy the little "O"s that reinforce the whole punches so they do not tear so easily but honestly it was $132 dollars just for the loose leaf text...I don't feel I should have to buy reinforcement for the pages to hold together. The printers should really consider printing on thicker paper.

The book does fit in a standard three ring binder, but the pages are smaller than a three ring binder's typical and 8 & 1/2 x 11inch pages. So it's a bit awkward. If you buy a flimsy three ring binder it might be even more awkward. I bought a hard bound one and that helps to keep the pages from shifting as much so that they do not tare.

BIG NOTE: There is no references section!!! I don't know if this is just a fluke for me...and they didn't include it with my copy...or if every copy of this book is this way. But if you wanna read any referenced research further...prepare for a search because they include NO REFERENCE section with this book. I'm very dissapointed and I will not be buying from this company again. Honestly I would have been better off paying a couple hundred for the nice hard back version of this book and skipped all this hasstle.

Loose-leaf is very poor quality. Extremely thin pages don't allow for highlighting and easily tear out of binder. As for content, it is surprising that a cognitive psychology text does not make use of much visually presented info- there are almost no diagrams, charts, photos, etc. Also text has very little organizational cues per chapter such as headings. Also no answer key to test questions. Clear writing and explanations however.

I purchased this book for three reasons: (1) I Wanted an updated presentation of working memory since 1997. (2) I wanted a detailed presentation of long term memory. (3) And I wanted an un-biased presentation of connectionism. This 6th edition provided all of that. I was impressed. A great resource. Highly recommended.

Great book. Well written. I do not think the newer versions have hardly anything that the 6th version does.

Overall, it is a great book.
Binder version is the absolute worst the pages tear and you misplace pages constantly and have to find your way back through the page numbers which is a pain to do because it is not intact.
