Instead of wordy directiosn and minimal pictures, each series of asanas is communicated entirely through easy-to-follow illustrations and tips. Designed in a practical, concealed Wire-O format that lays flat on the floor while being used, OM Yoga is organized in tabbed sections for each day of the week. Monday is devoted to the Sun Salutation to welcome the week's start. Thursday's practice focusses on sitting poses, when the week's energy is dwindling. When joined together, each day's recipe cultivates a yoga practice that is challenging, energizing, and restorative. Including sections on meditation, breathing, and do-it-yourself yoga "recipes" for all levels, OM Yoga: A Guide to Daily Practice creates the possibility for a meaningful yoga practice in the privacy of the home.

I haven't tried any of the sequences in the book yet, but hope to get inspired to do them. The content of the book is great so far. Really like the different sequences designed for each day of the week. My disappointment is with the layout and design of the content. Firstly, the names of the poses are in yellow text—very difficult to read. I mean, come on yellow text, why?!? Secondly the blue body copy is all quite small. If you're trying to follow along with the book while doing each pose, it's kind of impossible to do so. If I lay the book on the floor next to my yoga mat, the yellow text and small blue text are pretty much impossible to see from a few inches away. I don't see anyone being able to memorize a 23 step sequence before getting on the mat, so the book should have been formatted for more easy viewing while doing the sequences. The spiral binding makes it easy to lay the book flat on the floor, thankfully. Just wish I could see it!

Young or old, fat or thin, female or male, beginner or yogi can appreciate this book. The stick figure drawings are clear pose guides. The hard cover protects a spiral binding, which makes it easy to prop the book open or lay it flat to take a closer look. Lee's suggested routine includes a flowing warm-up as well as a distinct practice for each day of the week. Lee believes warming up and completing the daily postures takes 10 to 30 minutes each, but I usually take a bit longer. This book is my favorite yoga resource. The instructions are clear and simple. The routines are quick and varied, so I actually do them.

I love the stick figures. I'm sure, eventually, I will want to be made aware of more subtleties of the positions, but as a beginner it is nice to be able to focus on the basics. The author adds 2 to 5, specific and clear, written instructions for each pose, to enhance the drawing. They are plenty to focus on at one time. And as a relatively sedentary 60 year old, it is nice not to have to be faced with photos of someone with a perfect body! This book makes me feel like I can do this, that improvement is possible and perfection not required.

I gave this five stars because I am actually using this on a daily basis and I enjoy it. I feel like I am getting my days started with a more centered and relaxed attitude. The poses are a bit challenging, especially as I am just waking up, but I think most of them are do-able for people who are in reasonable physical shape. Saturday is the most challenging because it includes head/hand stands, but I am able to modify the poses I am unable to do.

The pictures are a little hard to see. I have to look closely to follow the diagrams.

Love the book as it is very simple to follow and you get to do something different everyday. I gave it 4 stars because I wished it would have been a little bit more specific as to when inhale and exhale in each pose. Otherwise the book is great to take anywhere and easy to follow the steps.

The OM Yoga book is perfect. Not only does it give you step-by-step instructions for daily yoga routines, but in the back of the book you also get "recipes" to make even better yoga routines that are longer and work more parts of the body. It also give you how long each routine should take and how many times you should do it. In the beginning of each routine it gives you a little summary of what the specific routine does for you body.

The only thing that I didn't like about the book is that they only have stick figures to show you the poses. I wish I could see actual people doing the poses so that I know how to perfect it better.
This book is great, but if you're more than a beginner yogi, you may become board of it.
